My doctor has added Imuran to my already long list of meds including MTX and Plaquenil. Has anyone else been prescribed this med? If so, what was your experience with it?

Your doc is starting you off on the same thing my doc did many, many yrs ago. I was given the Imuran to treat rheumatoid vasculitis (or RV) and am still taking it. There are a lot of different types of vasculitis, and in the case of people with RA, it means inflammation of the blood vessels. I can tell my symptoms by the little blood colored dots under the skin around my fingernails or on my knuckles when I haven't taken the Imuran. (everybody now checking out there fingernails and knuckles) I am presently taking 100 mgs. a day and have been as high as 200 mgs. The Imuran seems to work as I see the dots disappear in a short period of time.

LOL. Yep, I'm checking mine. I learn so much on this board. brb. have to go out in the sunlight to really see.what is imuran is it like those dmards. tried all 3 had a terriable reaction to them . dr. said he is running out of options
