Connection b/n RA & reproductive issues? | Arthritis Information

After reading several recent posts, I'm seeing a common thread of cysts/endo/reproductive system issues and RA.  Is there a direct connection or reason for it?

Very interesting as I have a history of Endo, PCOS and infertility and now the new dx of RA......

Sometimes you can be diagnosed with several autonimmune diseases---it seems if you have one, then you usually have a couple more in the wings. A doc once told me that most people have 3. Also---ALOT of the meds we take can affect our reproductive system and even cause us to go into early menopause.
For me, I have JRA, OA, fibro, and IBS. All autoimmune diseases. And now I have problems with my period too.
Sunam - my opinion is mycoplasmic infection in the HPA Axis.  Your mileage may vary.  :-)

Wysone - Please get your thyroid tested (all 4 tests).  That will definitely influence the cycle.

Interesting fertility article from an unexpected source, W fashion magazine:

I know from his website Dr. Gabe Mirkin will try a course of antibiotics for infertile couples, but had never heard of Mucinex!
I went into early menopause at age 32. I was healthy until I tried to get pregnant at age 33.  Ran the gamete of tests and procedures only to go on to have 5 unexplained miscarriages.  My illness started about 3/4 of the way through the fertility stuff.  Now, I am too sick to care for a child and at age 37.5, may be getting to old to even try if I ever feel well enough again.

I have read articles that link something about estrogen to ai diseases but have read nothing concrete.
