RA Hope | Arthritis Information

It's been a tough time waiting for some type of balance in the RA treatments.  I am seronegative and have been on treatment for almost a year.  I will see my rheumatologist again in two weeks.  I always feel un-well,for days,  after taking 10 mg MTX on Fridays.  I was also taking SFZ but I had a few weeks when I had continuous "flushed face".  I have ordered the book on TNF Miracle blockers.  I am trying to get some insight into what might eventually work.  I used to be so active, doing aerobics 4 times a week for an hour ; I was consided a "gym rat" !  Again, perhaps in time.  It is encouraging to read all of your stories and advice.. Hope is a bright beacon, sometimes near, sometimes far, but always there. Hi there, welcome to AI.Do you take anything with your MTX.  Yes there is always hope and while theres hope there is life. Its hard having to give up activites but instead of giving up on them maybe scale them down and do other forms of exercise like swimming, yoga or tai chi. It depends on your limits. I hope your rheumys appointment goes well.

Take care
It's crazy how many people around here have been very physically active and into physical fitness.  Doesn't it seem like their are alot?

Anyway, welcome to the board.  My first med was mtx and it didn't do eonugh by itself.  when Enbrel was added, I got pretty much back to normal.  Don't give up on the gym.  With minor changes in my routine I can work out every bit as hard as I ever did.  Your ratty days aren't necessarily over :)
If your SFZ was the antibiotic one - the flushed face is a 'herx' and would eventually go away.  I'm assuming your doc did NOT put you on probiotics.  Did you have sinus problems prior to RA?

Hi and welcome,
