trouble with periods | Arthritis Information

hi to everyone, my prob is that my periods have become very frequent (17days apart) i take methetrexate 10mg and the humira injection fotnightly along with folic acid, i was diagnoised 8 yrs ago with RA ,and have numerous drugs,and the humira has had an amazing affect on my RA. but im now getting pains in my pelvis my periods are very heavy and im eneamic regularly. my G.P is now sending me for scans to see what is happening. yes i could be going through the change, but she also is checking me out for ovrian cycsts. has any bodyelse has any similar probs .... alyson

Hi Alyson , I also had irregular periods to where it went on for over 6 months , heavy with cramps I have neve experienced before .

My Dr did some tests and it was just a hormonal thing of which she suggested endometrial ablation . That is a cleaning of the lining of the uterus .

During that time I was taking Arava and Enbrel .

That also happened to me prior to menopause... I had frequent heavy periods.... And I had fibroid tumors. Had a D&C and the discomfort and frequency stopped until I went into full blown menopause. Now, I have an enlarged uterus and the GYN isnt' sure why (off track a little) but she said w/ RA, many things can become enflamed. hmmmm
