Found yourself suddenly without Insurance | Arthritis Information

I'm curious has anyone ever had to stop their treatment due to suddenly not having insurance coverage. What was the alternative?  I talking, someone who can't function normally without the meds.Kama, I've never had to face this, but I know many of the major biological manufacturers will provide help to those who are uninsured or underinsured.  Are you facing this problem?  If so, check with the manufacturer of your treatments to see what if anything can be done to help.

No, it's just scary to think of that happening. My husband had just mentioned something about when he retired and not having as good as insurance that he has now. I was just wondering if it's happened to anyone.

Someone did go through this on here..........damned if I can remember who though. :( Sorry my brain isn't functioning well.

But Suzanne is right, lots of the big companies have assistance in place for that very event.
I have gone without some of my meds because I can't afford them. I usually get back on them when my hubby gets paid so it's not for long but long enough. We have a 3 tiered co-pay system. My meds run about 0 a month using the co=pay. We spent over 00.00 last year on copays on meds just for me. I got financial assistance for the enbrel and the manufacturer pays my 20% copay which is about 0.00 a month. Don't know what I will do when my time is up in a year. Won't be able to afford it.That's horrible CinnDee. I don't even bring home 00 a month! Not that many people do on their own.

Anybody who hasn't done taxes yet, remember to file all those unreimbursed medical expenses!  Makes a huge difference for us ever since my daughter got sick.

I believe we also deduct a percentage of our health insurance payments. Before I started getting Medicare on my Soc. Sec. disability, our monthly health insurance payments were 58. This was just for insurance for my husband and myself !

Medicare has been a blessing for me. We still pay 5 just for him.
I have been working on our taxes. Does anyone know how much you had to spend to claim medical? I think last year was 00.00. I'm real close to that now and I still have kid's stuff to add.Lots of info for help on this post.

Yikes that is scary to think about. I will probably end up stopping my meds because my husband got a new job and and is taking an HSA account. I don't want to pay out of pocket for these drugs that is what insurance is for!
Although I think sulfa is a very cheap drug that I can probably get on my own.
Sorry Cindee that you have to deal with that. I hope something works out
