Hi Mommy and welcome.

From your pix of your hand, it sure looks swollen and red. Did doc put you on any kid of meds to help with inflammation? There are alot of people on this site that are ra negative. I would say since your grandma had it changes are you do too. Not a dr here but I wonder if maybe your red line could be cellulitis. I would call your primary dr tomorrow and see what they think.
Take care and keep posting, there are lots of kewl peeps here with many years of experience with ra and fibro.

the only weird red line, i get is when my electric blanket gets on top of my sheet.. and i wake up w/ a line from the blanket..under my armpit.. eeek.. lol

That's a might swollen finger you have there! From my completely unprofessional, yet personal RA swelling experienced opinion.......it kinda looks like a blood vessel pushing out. I've got one down the side of my pointy fingers too. In that same spot, and mine sticks out when I swell.

Maybe?
You know everyone is different. I have to start taking pictures of my wierd stuff when i get it. I was posting today and erased it without posting because i thought, they just won't believe me and it was stuff that happened five months ago. LOL you know i won't ask a doctor if i am afraid to post it here. Do you have raynauds? That makes your hands turn different colors? Do your hands get cold and hurt? Could be imflamation or even scar tissue from repeated swelling? Just throwing out guesses of course.  Welcome.I would say it's swelling and the weird red line is just showing up because of it. You finger looks really swollen and red, darl and definitely RAish. I hope they get you sorted soon.

I am serognegative also and they didn't dx me for eight years because of it. As much as no one wants this disease, it is better if you get dxed quickly and early. After eight years...now they have spent three years trying to get control of my RA with meds and have not yet completely succeeded.

You're finger is swollen I think, rather than the red line is actually the problem. Get it all checked.
