Nutritional help for PA | Arthritis Information

Hi,

I am new to this site.  My Husband has PA.  He is going to start taking Humira soon but we are looking for Holistic treatments and nutritional advice.  I can not find much on the web regarding PA and Holistic doctors, nutrition or alternative approaches.  Can anyone give us advice on what foods may cause flare-ups?  What he should avoid or be eating?  we are a bit overwhelmed at this point!
Hi Kat and welcome.  I've tried many alternative treatments and complimentary medicines and but to no avail.  Massage has been very helpful in dealing with the pain.  I have found that sugar adds to the inflammatory process and I stay away from any sugars, and artificial sweetners.   Each of us responds differently to alternatives and what works for me may not work for your husband.  It's really trial and error, just like trying to find the right cocktail of medications.  Keep us updated on how he's doing.  Humira was my miracle drug.  Lindydear kat
