So do I have that ulnar drift thing? Or are my fingers just naturally weird. LOL Mine have looked like this for a long time. Not the best pics, sorry. And you probably can't tell, but I'm really puffy (for me) in my big knuckles at the base of my fingers. They don't normally dent in like that. Stupid little "fat dimples" I call them....lol I'm not sure about the ulnar drift. Looks like your left middle finger might have a little. The question is...have they changed, or always looked like that? Either way, you have joined the group of people with "not normal" hands OmG My left hand looks the same( minus your nice nails)LOL My middle finger twists too worse when my hands are swollenWhat unlar drift? Is it that your fingers curve sideways or that they bend at the knuckle downwards.
my middle fingers always have curved to the pinkies, if that's not normal, what is it that you are talking about, never heard of it.^ I don't see any ulnar drift happening. Ulnar drift usually happens after you have had unmanageable RA for many years, and usually begins in the knuckles with sublaxation, not the twisting of your fingers. Your fingers look just like my mums and she doesn't have RA. It doesn't mean it is not slowly happening, but it is one thing that you don't have to deal with... yet. Congratulations, you just have naturally weird fingers. _popupControl();
Katiekins,
http://www.handuniversity.com/topics.asp?Topic_ID=13Yay. LoL I dunno how long they've done that. I can bend all of my finger tip joints backwards though, maybe that's part of it? LOL
Okay, so I just have weird fingers!
I think your hands look great ! Nice nails !That is good to know that they make splints for that.
I've never broken a finger before, and I'm not to worried about my hands. They do flare and hurt, but when I'm NOT flared they're just dandy. So at this point I'm cool. :) They can be twisty all the want. lol
My hands look like yours too, also minus the nice nails. Mine are "poofy" all the time.Katie
you do not want your fingers to be twisty..hurting or not. Its a whole lot easier to prevent the twisting than to fix it.
