I was just answering Suzanne's original question. It took me a long time to log in and a lot of replies came while I bumbled around Why would she be wobbly in her chair ?
Major pain killers or alcohol or both ?
I agree Arriscolwell that some people do use the "get out of trouble free card ".
I love your responses , they are just so honest !! Right from your gut .
Or maybe she is just another very ill RA patient who needs support and proper care. Maybe .What I read of the article rubbed me wrong too. I don't know what to think of it.
My eyes get a little weird at times too....more than once I've worried that someone would think I was on drugs or something due to the irritation.
Bad she has to go through all of it in the public eye for sure.
Right Lovie. Which is why I said it was just an opinion, based off of ONE article.
So I'm not saying Im accurate here. Just the "vibe" I got really.
JSMN - She very well might be.
If she has one of the Spondy arthritis's. Ankylosing Spondylitis or Psordiac (sp/) she deserves our sympathy. Iritis is common with them and your eyes can be permanently damaged after a couple episodes. Until recently they thought the ratio of women to men was 1 to 9 when it is actually 1 to 2 or 3. Which means it takes women from 7 to 10 years to get diagnosed. Since there are no tests to prove it and SED etc is frequently normal they get dismissed until they have a lot of damage. No wonder she was a pain med addict. Most AS patients are on morphine because of the pain.
Its another case of bash the woman. Though if she can't do the job she should quit.
RobinIt certainly has effected my eye muscles at times. Iw was just complaining about this to my RheumyI could take the article both ways, and it did seem a bit....slanted....that way the reporter mentioned she was wobbly. That doesn't strike me as an objective word. It made it seem like the reporter wanted to imply something, and the only thing about her story that sounded unfamiliar to me was the eye muscle problems.
I know my daughter has regular checks for inflammation, but wasn't aware of muscle issues. I'm going to ask the next time we go to the ped opth.
