Since Link had asked how I was doing in Liz's update here it is...

RA wise im doing 'ok'  I saw my RD this past Fri and he said my RA is controlled just not my fibro.  He gave me Restoril to help me sleep and its been helping wonderfully!!!  Other then that not much news health wise.

My grandfather is stable right now.  He has been on the respirator and was sedated since last wednesday and was taken off sedation this past Tuesday and is having a trachatomy tomorrow afternoon.  His vitals have been stable and his fever has finally gone down.  It was at 101.9 all week.  My grandma, bless her heart, has been at the hosptial from 8am-8pm and one of the kids stays overnight w/ him since he is not sedated and still on the respirator.

Other then that its been pretty boring around here.   Kelsay is doing really well.  Starting to read ALOT...She reads EVERYTHING, to the point of being annoying at times LOL

Hey Shannon!  Thanks for posting the update.  It's good to hear about your Grandpa, he must bemore comfortable with his fever down.  Will he be staying on the respirator or will the tracheotomy replace it?  That's so sweet that your grandma stays by his side.  I mean, talk about devvtion and commitment.  She sounds like someone to look up to and learn from.

That's good news that your RA is controlled.  Hope the fibro will be too.

Don't forget to stop by every now and then to say hi.  You take care of yourself.
Hi Shannon, glad your RA is behaving and that your grandfather is stable, your grandma must be exhausted. I'm glad that Kelsay likes to read, I think its something that is so important in their development .
Take care
Link, yes she is definitly someone that I look up to and admire.  She is definilty an angel and a saint.  She was at my aunts side (her sister) 6 days a week when my aunt was at the end stages of breast cancer and we never heard her complain about going.  And now I dont hear her say anything about how she has to be at the hosptial all the time.  The trachatomy is the next step to being off the respirator.  The tube for the trach is shorter and it will allow his lungs to get stronger and work more on their own then having to depnd on the respirator then when his lungs do get strong enough he will be taken off the respirator.

Lisa, yes I am soo happy that Kelsay loves to read as much as she does

Oh, and there has been something positive that has come out of my grandfather being in the hospital.  OK so the week before he went in for his angiogram (it was a thursday) well the week of and the week prior he had to keep a very close eye on his BP and my aunt (she has a restruant/bar in the same town that they all live in and is a BIG drinker) had a BP machine that she had brought over to my grandparents for my grandfathe to use.  Well everyone was doing their BP daily along side w/ my grandfather and they had noticed that my aunts was VERY VERY high. They finally had convinced her to see the dr *this was the week prior to the week of my grandfather going into the hospital*  The dr ran I think EVERY blood test imaginable.  Her sed rate was on the high side of the range but the dr hasnt said that it is RA.  Well they also did a bunch of tests for her liver.  The dr basicly said that she HAS to stop drinking, (she had not had anything to drink the week of her drs appointments and the week after due to the drs wantin to find out the source).  Well it has been 4 weeks since she has been not drinking.  OMG she is such a totally different person it is amazing!!! She is only 13 years older then me so I grew up with her more then my other aunts/uncles and I grew up along side her friends as well and I have always looked up to her but for the past few years she has been drinking alot and has said some mean words to many people in the family and it had made me not look up to her as much as I had used to.  And even w/ all the stres with my Grandfather she had NOT touched a drink at all and that would have been the first thing she had gone to.
