has anyone tried the antibiotic way of curing/putting into remission RA?   the Dr. Brown protocol? I am curious if anyone has tried it and if it's done any good?

That was kind of a coincidence, cnddream. I was just posting a long overdue update on my experiences with antibiotic protocol on the "Requesting new APers" thread which chronicles a few people's experience with antibiotic protocol. (I'm on a mish mash of that and conventional treatment, but we have a few "purists" here (namely Pip) who has a good success story and a wealth of information about AP). While long, it might be a thread of interest to you.

If you are not aware already, there is a large web community of people who use AP at the Road Back foundation's website at www.roadback.org

I think it's very worthwhile to try the protocol, but also that when doing so your chances of success will be much greater if you really educate yourself about it. Feel free to post any questions you have here or at the Roadback bulletin board.Gimpy-a-gogo2008-03-07 13:44:48

Hi Dream!

I swear by AP and it saved my life!  There really are quite a few of us on this board.  Hopefully they will see this and jump in.

Mercola doesn't do AP anymore - he focuses on diet.  Last I heard he says he'll consider it but wants you to do the diet...then doesn't.

There is more info at www.rheumaticsupport.net and www.rheumatic.org.  Or just ask questions...we're here to help.

Also, if you run a search here, you'll find lots of AP threads and info.

Hugs,

Pip
My daughter is on Zithromax, not cured, but we never have to treat for pain and she never misses school or activities.  Dx is severe polyarticular JRA.  She is in a fullday program with kindergarteners, but she is pre-K.  No naps.  Off to dance class this a.m.!  We are very pleased with this therapy for her so far.

We haven't made dietary changes for her, but from reading posts, I know they can make a difference in how a person feels and I think it is worth considering what your triggers might be, along with something to control the disease.  Take care.

Ditto - and the fizzle baths are the best part!  CathyTo the top in case cnddream comes back.
