My Mystery Continues | Arthritis Information
Alright get this. My pain is under control so i am walking around a little today. Maybe alot. An ocasional twinge in the knee. Have told myself i was over doing it a bit. I did my hair yesterday. Anyway looked in the mirror to admire my hair. As it makes happy to not see the grey i have been looking at for weeks and not energetic enough or having time to do anything about. Alright i think wow i have pred face when did that happen. Oh i have pred face on one side of my face. The right side of my face is huge. Not puffy, huge and i would not have noticed had i not looked in the mirror. It does not hurt. I pushed around on it find it to be more numb than painful. I have only really noticed to have heartburn to be my biggest problem today. Guess it is good i have doctor appointments around the corner. Monday and tuesday. Oh yes i did swell in my face last flare and i did it one side at a time not bilaterally but not this bad. Anyone else ever do this? I thought maybe someone said they did before. Do you swell one side at time or both or am i a freak?Hummm... good thing you do have those appointments next week.
I usually swell on both sides, just one side is more swelled than the other side. I do have an occasional time when only one part is swelled and not the same part on the other side. That is why I am so confused about everything going on with my body. It just seems really weird. Like my left ankle likes to swell and act up, but my right one nothing, not a darn thing wrong with it, so I think.
Wow Milly. Not only has this never happened to me, I've never even heard of it before. Did you tell your doc last time it happened ? Maybe it's nothing big, and I don't know what "around the corner" is to you. But if it were me, that's something I'd call about Monday.Milly, is it the same side of your face where you had the jaw infection?

Yes Monday RD and tuesday Ears nose and throat and yes sameside of face as cheekbone infection and i have been on antibiotics for seven days so i do not see as being an infection. Guess it could be. ENT is going to order a catscan for sinuses. I did get swelling last flare and it was sometimes swelled the other side and not this side but not as much swelling as i am having. Hmm. Make sure you tell us what he says about it, k?Well i think it is RA because my ankles are also more swollen than were a few hours ago. So if my other RA swelled at the same time as my face this could just be i have RA of the face. But still i want that catscan. I want you to want cultures! Now! Start demanding! Cz it being more on the infected side is telling.

Oh yes we will be very demanding for an answer to this. I had gotten several dental exrays and nothing. I kept going back to the dentist. Went back three times and he was like your crazy lady you have a chronic sinus condition. But they did exrays three times. But really it was the other side of my swelled last flare. If my right side of face had swelled before like this i surely would have gotten more attention. I will ask for cultures at ent. I am going to get the opinion of any doc that can give me an answer i am very tired of this. Milly -
I know you don't have a ton of bucks just sitting around, and with your face swollen, well, hopefully it STAYS that way until you see somebody on Monday and Tuesday (and if it looks like it's going down have somebody take a picture) but if these guys don't figure it out, see if you can find a 'biologic' dentist.
From what I'm reading, some of the stuff in the gums don't show up on X-ray. But these biologic dentists know what to do when you have stuff like this. I have one wisdom tooth that was extracted and left a huge LUMP of something. Every dentist I've seen says 'nothing there'. But the biologic dentist was - you have a pocket and need that cleaned out. I'm like "duh, I've been saying that for YEARS'. Will it help? I figure it can't hurt - and because it's behind the area with the abscessed tooth that STARTED the whole PRA thing for me - I am DARN willing to get that out of there now. I've seen Internet photo's of those 'cavitation's' of 'nothing' and GROSS, they pull out black pus stuff that didn't show up on X-rays.

If this makes you feel any better. When i did have the origanal tooth pulled when this all started there was a bit of pus that came out. It was not black. How icky I would have had a nervous breakdown for sure. At least all of these antibiotics and i do not even know if they have all been neccesary, would at least have kept the infection at bay if it is an infection. My sinuses some times burn and just feel swollen like a bad allergy maybe? But not like anything i ever had before. Well once at work we had a new chemical in the material that we put in our presses. Well that stuff burned my sinuses to where i did not even know i had sinuses at. Anyway it is a come and go thing this sinuses burning and swelling. A quizzel that leans me toward allergies. We will get to the bottom of this if i have to go back to low level allergie shots. I could handel them at low levels and the lady would just get froggy some days and decide to increase and try to kill me for no apparent reason. Then she said you should finish you paid for this stuff. It's helping you. She said well you were doing good i thought you could handel it. Anyway long story short could be several things going on at once. And yes that will take time and money and energy. But we will get it done. Eventually. Makes me mad how much time and money and energy has been spent on no results. But we are done playing this game Milly says for the umptenth time.Now i just have a fat face both sides and look like i have big frown lines but i am not unhappy. Maybe everyone will think i am a big crouch and be scared of me. LOL I lokk pretty mean with these frown lines. But left side is still worst will let you know what everone says. I imagine we will have to be a little patient for test to come back Pip.
