MTX-What's Happening? | Arthritis Information

I don't understand this at all.  About four hours after I gave myself the injection, I started to get very queasy.  How can that be when the medicine is bypassing my stomach altogether?  I never had a problem with the pills and stomach issues because I always divided up the dose into three parts.  Also, the RD upped my dosage from 20 to 25 mg. but I don't know if that has anything to do with this awful feeling.  Can anyone explain this to me?  Do you think this will stop as my body adjusts?  I don't look forward to doing this again next week.  If figures I would be backwards.  Everybody else has trouble with the pills and loves the injectible, I have better luck with the pills.  Thanks Ladies.  For now I think I'll just go to bed and wait it out.

Hope you feel better when you wake up. I care but i have no advise as i never had an mtx injection.I don't have injections but take my MTX orally (20 mg)  I've heard, and am not sure if this would be part of the cause, but folic acid really helps with the bad feelings from MTX.

Hope you feel better
Hi Jesse, I always have tummy probs, seriously troublesome with the tabs and I get awful mouth ulcers despite folic acid.  On the injections, I get severe diarrheoa and dry reaching from nausea, I can't work it out, but the results are better with the injections!!!!  Regards JAnie.

Hi everybody, I feel much better this morning.  I still don't know if it was the MTX or not.  I'll find out next week, I guess.   Just before I got sick I had eaten two pieces of wheat bread with honey and cinnamon sprinkled on top.  There was a thread here about it and I got this major craving, so I went for it.  Yum, it was soooo good.  It could be a coincidence I got sick afterward.  It's never bothered me before.  Maybe I'll have some more honey and cinnamon today and see what happens.  A yummy experiment.

Thank you board buddies!
Glad to hear you feel much better.  Hoping if was just an upset tummy and it won't happen again.Jesse, well that's good news.  Hope you stay well and you won't have the problem next week.   Enjoy the day
