ra and cherry juice | Arthritis Information

I was reading the Sunday paper ads and came across an advertisement for cherry juice. It said it helps arthritis. That's all it said. It was from a farmer's market. Has anyone heard of this? Tried it, etc? Just curious.

thx

I've heard of this, but never tried it. There are always claims that some dietary foods will help with these inflammatory diseases, the problem is that they are either foods that I don't eat a lot of or foods that I don't like, the regimens are generally hard to adhere to especially if you have a busy on the go schedule and the benefits are usually modest at best. Rx2Heal2008-03-09 21:42:00Not from posts I've seen - some people almost totally remove their pain and inflammation.  Heck, one post on the Roadback - the woman said the diet changes helped more than the antibiotics.  Now, I doubt THAT - but she did say that.

I used cherry juice in the Whole Lemon/Olive Oil drink and I think it helped - at least with the taste - I hate lemon!  But the swelling definitely went down.

hm mmm.........will have to try that lemon/olive oil drink with cherry juice. I wonder if cherry 7-up would work? I love that stuff! I also love lemons and drink water and tea with lemon in it. Thanks for  your replies.Well, those of us with inflammatory diseases certainly should consume food that decreases inflammation and stay away from foods that are known to cause it. That is what I try to do. won't hurt you..will it help...who knows
I've tried it.. very $$ but  figured what the hey  might as well. I saw no change.. same with Pomegrante juice.
same with probiotics etc.. theres no way I can eat  yogurt for 14 days straight  just to see if it works..
I've heard that it's good for gout.  Is that a type of arthritis?I do know eating tomatoes makes mine flare up! but i love tomatoes so much i dont think i could give them up I heard pectin mixed in grape juice.

I tried it- all it did was give me bad cramps and the runs!
Debby.....a kindred spirit........I wouldn't part with tomatoes either.
We should start a post about what people have told us is the "magical cure" for ra. It seems everyone I talk to has knows someone who has it and does/takes something funky and it cured them.  ??
