OT - Seal Survival... | Arthritis Information

I had taken some pictures of this little fella while noticing that it was blind in one eye and a wound to it's head.
The seal has been hanging around a local boat launching ramp and was reliant on hand outs from the locals.
Some of the locals thought it cute and some thought it a pest, hence the dent on the head that looks like a gaff strike.

I sent the pictures into our local rag who in turn sent them off to other government departments. This has  forced action to be taken and remove the seal out of harms way..

I must admit that I feel a sense of pride that some of my images have been put to good use
and hope that they have assured this seal pup of a normal life.
This to me is a good news story..........

What a great story - you should feel proud.  It's amazing what the actions of one person can accomplish.

Thank God for people like you Stephen.  My 11 y.o son almost cried tonight when our dog caught a Gecko and killed it, I think he will be a crusader for animals just like you!  Regards Janie.

What a nice thing to doAww.......our very own Bodak, a hero to seals!!  Good job Stephen, and thanks for the smile.  I love happy endings :)Stephen -

You so totally rock!  And this shows exactly how/why one person can make a difference with anything.

Bless your heart.  There's a special place in heaven for people like you (or there should be).  You're my hero.  Thanks for sharing this. It's nice to see action taken for animals protection.Oh god, he's beautiful! How could someone hurt him? He can come live in my bathtub.... Wow, that's wonderful, what a heartwarming story and great photos!  Good on ya, mate!  Here's a link to the story on a different paper's website as well: http://www.leadernews.com.au/article/2008/03/10/30862_mlv_news.html
Great Job!!!!!!  What a wonderful thing you did! [QUOTE=FormerMermaid]Wow, that's wonderful, what a heartwarming story and great photos!  Good on ya, mate!  Here's a link to the story on a different paper's website as well: http://www.leadernews.com.au/article/2008/03/10/30862_mlv_news.html  I did not do much other than take the images, make a few inquires that just happened to fall into a terrier of a reporter hands.

From what I can gather, DSE had already inspected the pup and for all intents and purposes were satisfied to leave it where it was.

Louise (the reporter) armed with the images has done all the sniffing and bought about the change of mind.

I certainly was not looking for a story, just the seals well being.
Steven, dont downplay your  role,  u r truly a hero!!
You have a true gift w/ your photos!!
