I"m just getting over a bad flu, and because of the flu i didn't get my humira last week, so I'm swelling. I was wondering though, am I just weird, or does anybody else experiece itchyness where the joints are swelling? I've always done this, and in fact, before I was officially diagnosed with RA, my MD kept thinking I was having alergic reactions to "something" but could never figure out what. Does anybody else get itchy joint swelling too?It's funny that you bring this up now. I am just getting to the end of a flare and yes. Some of the joints that swelled were itchy. But not till the swelling started to go down.There is a form of edema which is actually a large hive under the skin. Can be a reaction from an allergy etc.
I get itchy skin whilst taking Plaquenil but not noticed it during or after a flare. Also itch after hydrotherapy but I think I'm sensitive to the pool chemicals.
My joints always itch before swelling. Just another pain in the rump! I get itchy nerves when I'm flaring, but not at the joints. It's maddening, trying to scratch something that I can't reach. How are your liver numbers? I itched when I was flaring and my numbers were up.
