Hi well I am so mad at myself as I was going to see Kathleen Turner on Tuesday but I wasnt able to get myself out of bed

Much Hugs
aww babe, that sucks, glad you had the book to read, hope u feel better soon!Hi Lisa, so sorry you didn't get to go, I just saw Karthleen Turner being interviewed on TV, she certainly looks how I feel, she has the blown up pred face, her speech was definitely affected and her hair, I thought so anyway.  I really like her and admire her for being so stoic and keeping up appearances so she could get more work.  Bless her, they said she was suffering a very serious illness so maybe she will be a good advocate for us.  I can't wait to read the book, Regards Janie. What caused her remission?? Biologics ?She doesnt say in her book what meds she was or is taking but gave the website www.RAaccess.com I havent been able to get onto it though. She has definetely been taking steroids though.RAaccess is the former patient support page for enbrelThanks buckeye, i didnt realise that. Glad she is having remission on it.Sorry you weren't able to meet her in person Pin. I know you were looking forward to it.

I hope you're feeling better soon.
I don't think anyone can figure out her treatment timeline exactly, but is known that she was on AP from a doctor in Boston and then that she became a paid spokesperson for Enbrel. Well, a few years ago I read some interviews in which she mentioned she was on AP and Enbrel simultaneously, but she is a paid spokesperson for Enbrel so she either stopped the AP or stopped mentioning it.Hi guys, I read that she was on AP, MTX, Remicade and then Enbrel, and was doing ok on those.  She is definitely on pred, she oviously has a bad case of it like a lot of us on here.  I'd love to know if she comes online to read about all of us, wouldn't you?  Janie. Sorry, Pinny, hope you feel better!

Oh, Lisa, I'm sorry you are flaring so badly. And also sorry you had to miss Kathleen Turner. I know how you were looking forward to it. Did a friend get the book signed for you?

Your post was the first I had heard that she had RA. Isn't it amazing that she would rather be thought to have an alchohol addiction than RA? I guess we sometimes have to play by some weird rules in order to survive. It sounds like  the book was really good. Wow, two hours? I'm very impressed

I hope you feel better very soon. Take care, Sweetie.

Hugs, Nini
Hey Lisa...sorry you had to miss KT, I know you were looking forward to hearing her. An then to have to miss because of a flare.  Oh, the bitter irony.  Hope yu feel better really fast.

Sorry Pin that you were unable to go. That stinks, but so typical of RA sometimes. I can't wait to read the book either. Can you tell me the title? It's probably gonna be hard to find for a time. I hope you feel better soon. Gentle hugs to you...

The book is called Send Yourself Roses and its written by Kathleen Turner and Gloria Feldt. Its not a "feel sorry for me" kind of book either, its just an honest account of her life before and after RA.Sorry you were unable to go, Lisa.....hope you're feeling better!
I just finished Send Yourself Roses.  I started it yesterday.  I loved it.  It reminds me so of my journey.  Being athletic all my life, the total desperation, self loathing that RA made me feel.  The book is inspirational and motivates me to get back out there and swim and work and do community service.  TO MAKE CHOICES !!!!!!I just began reading her book..

I hope it gives me the inspiration you found roxy!!
Wow!!! Im going out today to get this book. I love to read and especially about peoples experiences with RA!! If she is paid by Enbrel this is too bad.Sorry you aren't feeling well and missed it. Thanks for the book review, I'm going to pick it up.

You can't really blame her for keeping quiet. Just look at these posts, people judging her medications. Like the AP people want her to promote that but trash her for promoting Enbrel. I feel bad for her. We shouldn't even know that her doctor is at Harvard, should we?

It's rumored her doc doesn't prescribe probiotics too.  And look, he's at Harvard.

Anna/Birdgirl - how are you?  How was your trip.

Meow!It really shouldn't matter what she's on, who's paid her, who's treating her, where she's treated, how or why.  If she used Enbrel and went into remission and got paid to advertise I really don't care.   If she didn't go into remission and got paid, then that's a different matter.  But who are we to say.  Have we lived with her, are any of us her best friends, did we go to her medical treatments with her?  No, so none of us truly know what treatments she's used and how she's responded unless she publicly informs us.   I certainly didn't go on Enbrel because I was influenced by a movie star and I can't imagine there were very many people that did.  The last time I looked innuendo and rumors weren't facts.  I plan on reading the book and it has nothing to do with RA and drugs.  I have enough of that in my own life.  I want to read it because she's had a fascinating life in Hollywood and has always been a strong woman in the acting profession.  Lindy
It really shouldn't matter what she's on, who's paid her, who's treating her, where she's treated, how or why. Lindy
I like her, too, but have you heard there is a new controversy about this book?  I saw an article that said Nicholas Cage sued because it says he got a DWI and stole a dog?  Apparently, she had that wrong.....    Nicholas Cage filed a lawsuit back in feb, earlier this month the lawsuit was settled.  Turnr will issue an apology, make corrections in the book along with a printed aplogy (subsequent printings), pay Cages legal fees and make a donation to a charityI wonder if the publisher will have to do anything?  Seems like a fact checker could confirm a DWI...should have confirmed.....or toned down what she was saying if they couldn't....
