Actually, the idea that marriage be about being in love is relatively new. Back in the day people married for all kinds of reasons that had nothing to do with romantic love. Even if Larry King's wife did marry him for money, and he married her for her looks, so what? If they both are willing to honor their commitment with integrity, I guess that's more than what you can say for many who do marry for "love".The ability of the news media to break these kinds of stories is astronomical compared to JFK's days and he supposedly had an incredible machine behind him keeping it out of the public eye. Did you see the Today Show the other morning when Dr. Laura, an anthropologist and some guy, he may have been a psychologist were on. The antropologist said Spitzer's high cheek bones and heavy brow meant he had alot of testosterone and his behavior was typical. You mean he's a CAVEMAN!! It is true that the more you get to know a person the more you either see their point of view and either agree with them or not. I always hated it when I walked into a room full of people and knew who was sleeping with who/who was cheating on who. It always sort of left me with a sick feeling.
Oh those anonymous tips are hurtful, destructive and painful TOO. If this neighbor of yours loved this man and he was her rock and knight in shining armor, then so be it. Maybe she went back to him for more than the lifestyle; as most people know, lifestyle can change overnight.
Couseling can and does help many people. I am one that believes that it is not for everyone.Counselors are adamant in thinking EVERYONE needs counseling when things don't go the way they think they should.
Many couples survive "spousal affairs" I cannot comment on the bi-sexual orientation because I know very little about it, would that be having an affair as well or not?

I have to tell ya though, I was in a situation where my husband ( of nearly 21 years) was with a mayor's wife and a skanky......I made him leave, that is no way to raise kids and I felt I was worth more than a doormat wife on hold to raise his kids and to keep up the house, work, cook, educate and smile for friends that think you have the "perfect marriage".
Jode, that's what I mean. If both are honoring the commitment they made when they took the vows, who's to say what's a good or bad, right or wrong reason for marriage? Personally I think that's the key to a long healthy marriage. If you do marry because of an emotional connection, what happens when the emotion changes? Because emotions always change, that's the nature of them. When a marriage lasts I bet most spouses will say it has way more to do with keeping a promise than feeling all mushy inside. Oh I agree! Sometimes you have to haul the other one in and say look......we made this promise to eachother. I think that is what makes a long relationship....wished I woudl have done that with Tim, and just say look, married or not do whatever you need to do to satisfy whatever you need to satisfy, then get it together and let's enjoy life.
But ........I still believe there is no room for hookers in a marriage or a livin situation. Sex for money when their are mouths to feed, health costs and mortgages to pay is a huge nono.
Love does change, mushy changes, sexual desire changes, friendship changes, it is the promise of...hey no matter what we end up together. SOmetimes even a break helps. It is so difficult in this day and society to find a spousal relationship that you actually can connece with for both to enjoy....that is why compatablility and caring, genuinely caring, for that person is so vital.
Well this is pretty funny Z( and sad ) the new Gov of NY was sworn in yesterday. Today he is admitting that he cheated on his wife from 1999 to 2001. I guess he wanted to admit it since it obviously came out. I honestly don't care about the sex... I figure some married people have affairs and its between them, their spouse and god..
what really frosts my cookie though, is that Elliot Spitzer was a US Prosecutor for pete's sake. He KNOWS that prostitution, regardless of how "classsy" (but get a gander at his hooker...ick) is against the law...period. Its often mob controlled, and the source of money laundering.

I think they all cheat, sure seems that way anyway. You lile and you learn. I think the older I become the more I learn of more people cheating. To me, if the couple really cares for eachother they will fight harder for eachother, that is what I have learned.
On the news they said the new gov and his wife were going through a rough time in their marriage and both cheated....who knows, don't much care about their backyard, just worry about my own.
