MOUTH ULCERS A SIDE EFFECT? | Arthritis Information

I have been on DICLOFLEX now for 3 weeks, had steroid injection for first time Tuesday of this week and also started Salzo**** (can't remember the rest of it and tablets upstairs - take me too long to go up at moment!)same day but today have come out in horrific ulcers on gums, side and roof of mouth which are killing me ! Wonder if this is a side effect to something??

Fed up too that for 8 days I have been in a non stop flare in every single part of body every joint and also muscles in legs and arms are killing.  This is the dreaded flare up after giving birth 7 weeks ago.

Hope you all surviving!

I get horrible mouth sores from methatrexate.  Are you on that?  Folic acid really helps my mouth sores, maybe try that.  I know how much they hurt.  I hope they get better soon.  A lot of multi vitamins have folic acid.

I hope you feel better Chelybel.  Your flare is so unfair!  My flare only effects my dogs chelybel - I take dicloflex (have taken it for ages)and haven't had any mouth ulcers (yet). Like roxy I started getting mouth ulcers when I began taking Methatrexate but I take Folic Acid and that helps. Come to think of it so does ice-cream, lots of it!!

OOoooh I'm a Groupie now!Bookworm38598.5643055556another mouth sore victem, my rheumy has me on folic acid 1mg. perscription, it does help. swishing malox in your mouth also helps. it is very sothing.  good luck Hey Chelybel

I read the information leaflet that comes with my dicloflex last night and it says if you get mouth ulcers you should mention it to your doctor. Have a look at your information leaflet(sometimes in the box) and see if it says the same.

Thanks everyone for your replies - I will get in touch with my Doctor tomorrow and tell him about them as they are more like craters today - big holes and im afraid they will get infected after eating!  Must be the SULPHASALAZINE rather then the DICLOFENAC as been on that three weeks and no ulcers - been on the SAL nearly one week and got them.

Il let you know what he said tomorrow!
