menieres disease | Arthritis Information

I was wondering if there are any members with meniers. My mum has had it for years and had surgery done but still needs medication daily. For the last few weeks I have had dizzy spells that totally drain me afterwards. As the weather has been so hot ,I thought it was just low blood pressure. But the doctor says menieres is common with autoimmune diseases. Thankyou, just another to add to list.I don't have it but my boss does.  It totally whacks him when he gets an attack..  I hope you don't have it!My mother in law has menieres.   she hasn't had a bad bout for quiet a while but she tries to be careful not to walk in big flat fields where there are no visual cues for balance.  She also hates going to the dentist because the vibration of the drill can set off an attack.  I was having problems a couple of years ago with vertigo, turns out I had a case of labyrinthitis.  I took some anti nausea meds for a week or so and did some special exercises with my head and neck to rebalance the fluid in my inner ear.  I've been OK since then.  Maybe you have a case of labyrinthitis,  ask your doctor about the test they do with your head and see if it is positive.Oh bugger. You did not need that. I hope you respond to treatment better than your mother has. Keep us posted as to how things go for you. I am working on similar problems myself. I have some test ordered in a few weeks. Thanks everyone for the replies. Pammy that info about the labyrinthitis is very interesting as this all started since I had a fall a few weeks ago and hit my ear and head on the door frame. My laundry trough overflowed with water and I slipped on wet tiles. I was more annoyed at breaking my best earring than hurting myself. I see that a head/ear trauma can cause the labyrinthitis. I will see the doctor again tomorrow so will mention it to him. Thankyou. Hope it is nothing terribly wrong, to ad to the DX list. Good Luck! Thanks Joonie, I will let ya all know as soon as I do. Fed up with the dizzy spells. I have broken 4 plates and two glasses in the last few days so if it doesnt stop soon I will be usin plastic and paper ones lol. Hmm.  I never heard of any of these ailments.  Crazy the things that can go worng with your body, huh?
