Is it just me, or does anyone else miss the chat thread?

What's everybody doing today?  It is beautiful here in Michigan, blue sunny sky and it's going up near 50 degrees I think.  I love this time of year when you finally see an end to the long winter. I'm sure we still have snow on tap, but the end is near :)
My daughter and I are going to see Horton Hears a Who today.  I always loved that story and used to read it to my kids when they were little.
And I have plan to meet an old friend from high school for dinner tonight.
Hope it's a great day for everyone!!
Linncn2008-03-15 07:53:47Taking it easy this morning - we've got a busy day ahead! The husband and kids went to the gym.  We're going over to Dad's house later this afternoon to do chores and take my stepmom to the grocery store.  My husband is lector this evening at Mass, and then he leaves for a week for a business trip. Boys have already been put on notice that if they get out of line while he's gone, there will be hell to pay!!! Hey Linncn,

That sounds like fun.  After I clean up my house (not fun), I am planning on taking my horse out for a trail ride.  Have a great day!  Hiking_gal

HG, sounds like you've got a good day lined up too.  What's you're horses name?Dad's doing pretty good, but he can't be left alone just yet, in case he starts having a problem with wacky heartbeats or some late-blooming surgical complication.  This has been good for my stepmom, in a way.  She's discovered she's not quite as housebound and immobile as she had thought. Hows  he doing mentally?  I mean, I've read that after heart surgery it can go one of two ways...either the patient is afraid to do anything because they think they'll have a heart attack and so they become sedentary.  Or it's a new lease on life and they go go go!!

Hope your dad finds a happy medium.  Glad step mom is stepping up and doing what she's gotta.  Sometimes the best things come from what seems to be the worst.

Today we are going to FIL's church for their Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. It is all nice and gray clouds out and looks like it is going to rain. My knees & Elbows say it is going to rain soon LMAO!

So, I guess I am spending the day with the in-laws as we always do on weekends.

Oh and yesterday... hubby thought it pretty funny... Our died, blowed head gasget, Monday on the way back from taking me to get my Remicade infusion. And it had been sitting in the front yard the whole weekend and week. Yesterday morning watched daughter get on the bus like I always do, and the car was in the front yard.

Fast forward to 4pm and hubby comes home talking about the car and what the Ford dealership said was wrong with it.
Me: "how do they know what is wrong with it when it is sitting in our front yard?"
Hubby: "because it is up there at the dealership."
Me: *looks out the window - "Oooooh... when did they get it?"
Hubby: "this morning"
Me: "Oh... well it was out there when I watch her get on the bus."
Hubby: "So someone could have stolen our POS, and you would not have known about it until someone pointed it out to you."
Me: "Yep!"
Well let's see...saturdays are always fun since it's the day after MTX.  In the midst of winter it wasn't too bad since I could hibernate.  Not today-daughter had JV soccer practice early, cat has a standing vet appt., son needs track shoes etc., oh yeah and husband taking off  for the Middle East! Hi Linncn,

I'm just getrting ready to go out and ride and thought I'd check in on the site.  My horse's name is Ming.  She is a pretty champagne colored walking horse.  My husband's horse is a paint horse named Bubba.  I think we are going to  take them for a ride on the Gettysburg battlefield.  They have great trails there.  Well enjoy your show and let us know how it was.  Hiking_gal
It is so nice today, around 81deg and beautiful.

I went to a 6yr old birthday at chuck e cheese for about an hour and went to a craft store and bought beautiful pictures and frames (50% off) for my walls.  And we just picked up some subway for dinner.

I took a pain killer for the first time in a year, so i feel pretty good lol.

I hope everyone else will have a beautiful day as well.
Decided to take it easy this weekend and rest. I have been overdoing it during the work weeks and weekends I've been cooking big meals complete with homemade desserts.

This weekend -2 crockpot meals and 2 boxes of Tasty cakes.

Did get a long overdue eye exam and an up to date pair of glasses I can wear when the contacts aren't in.

Got the Easter basket stuff while I was out and now the rest of the weekend is rest.
