For those of you that don't know me, I am currently undiagnosed. I suspect I have RA or some sort of AI problem. I have the joint pain, fatigue, etc...classic RA symptoms.
My hands and feet freeze and turn purple when I have a flare. Its from the Fibro, thats what they doc says. By skin feels hot and burns when I am really swollen, I think that mainly from the tension of skin stretching too much.
Sounds like fibromyalgia to me also. I have RA, and my younger sister has Fibro...this sounds a great deal like what she suffers from.I don't have alot of visible swelling, where someone would notice it. I could understand if I did, why my skin would hurt. Because it's stretching. But I don't think that is the case.
Bizzalou, is that your bird in your signature? I have 5 birds, 3 of them parrots. When it comes to AI nothing is wierd. Because it is all wierd. There are several forms of AI that have red come and go rashes with heat. So tell RD as this is a symtem to something. And if you are like me it will not do that when you want it to. Well i looked it all up one day and found that i had a smoldering abcessed tooth and that can cause that. If you are taking pain meds and pred you can get sick and not know it. So that could even do that. As can many AI diseases. I usually feel the heat from deep within the joint. But yes i have done this with the skin also. Now my thigh was hot today and i do not know why. No redness with that today. But i looked because i have looked before and seen redness. Mine was my face elbows and ankles. And it would come and go. Then i get the heat and numbness with my hands and feet. So alot of strange stuff. My RD said i have a skin condition but did not say which one yet, he seemed that he knew but wanted confrimation.Thanks for your replies everyone. I will definately tell the RD about it tomorrow.
