I suck! | Arthritis Information

I cannot remember exactly what time my GP appointment is. I did not write it down, but I did write down the other 2 appointments I made.

I think it is at 3:00 or maybe it was 3:30. Heck I do not know. Either way... I am going to be a bit late getting there. I know why I am not sure what time, because I told the lady I might be a little late and she said as long as I was no later than 3:45. Then I told latest would probably be 3:30, but then I was thinking 3:40.

But it is just bothering me that I am doubting my own self again. I just cannot remember. I know when hubby gets home he will ask me what time my appt is and I will just be like 3:30? with a very unsure tone. Then he will be upset with me for not remembering.

Oh MAN! I should not be in charge of my life somedays. I have to write everything down. I'm not sure it has anything to do with the disease (I don't have fibro anyway; just RA) but I have so many things I have to remember I constantly forget stuff if I don't stay orginized.

I love the calendar in outlook. It has pop up reminders that I could not live without.
I have ADHD so if I don't write stuff down there's no way I'll remember. I have a PDA (palm pilot) that synchronises with my laptop so all my appointments showup in iCal. It's the NUMBER ONE thing that has improved the quality of my life in refernece to ADHD. Not only that, but having all my appointments, contact info, and memos in a thing the size of my hand is incredible! Well if you suck then I do too! lol If you only knew how many times I have  gone into an appt. when I had already missed it the day before, you would think I am nutz. The receptionists finally just smile at me.....wait till you do that for an RD appt. that takes 3 months to get into!

I too have a palm pilot, lost the software to it though.....dahhh is me!But I use it, not as much as I should.

I have a cheapo freebie purse calendar I keep everything written down in........hopefully! Just ring up and find out, that's what I'd be doing. I agree with Stephen, I often ring up and ask to confirm my appointment, then they think you are just being efficient!!!  Good luck Joonie, I am glad I am not the only one.  Hugs Janie.  Joonie, create yourself an online calendar, girl! I can't remember what service my friend has, but it actually sends her email reminders of important dates, appointments, plans, etc. I bet there's all kinds of them available on the net. It might work better than writing it down (and gives you more time on the pc! hehe)
Hope you were able to call and figure out the time for this one. *hugs*
I am always forgetting things.  Always always.  I often call if I haven't wrote my appt down to ask when it is.

I got there in plenty of time. So no worries. Hubby did not get irritated at me this time either for not knowing exactly what time my appointment was. He said I said 3pm. I guess he was taking my word for it and not guessing me again. I HATE it when he does that to me makes me feel like I am wrong, when I am not. Then I kinda start to panic and then I get irritated because I second guess myself and get confussed.

Oh Hubby bought me a calendar last night, they had them marked down to 50 cents. That way I can leave it and a sharpie attached to the calendar on our dresser so I will have something to write on and with when I am on the phone in the bedroom.
Sounds like it all owrked out just fine then.  So what did the doc have to say?when we do not feel good it is hard to do every little thing right.  i am glad you made your appointment and i hope all went well !!!   wonderwomanhi Joonie, that happens to me all the time, thats why when I call about an appointment I allway have the planner in front of me so I don't make 2 at the same time and so I write it down as I repeat it too them.  Last week on Monday I called and asked for an appointment next week for my husband, so she said come in on Tuesday, I said no,  that I had one on Tuesday, that we would come in on Wensday the 12th. She said something like,  well I said Tuesday because you said next week and It didn't sink in what was happening. I said Wednesday would be find.  well on Sunday I was going over the planner to plan out our week and it hit me what I did.  I had lost a week, He had already missed his appointment.  I called her on the 10th. and should have made it for the 19th.......in other words, I'm loseing it.   A planner is no good unless you know what day it is.

But lately I have been extra forgetful and cannot remember things for the life of me. It just bothers me!
I luv, luv, luv my Palm Pilot and the desktop software!!
I have a palm treo smartphone.  It's a palm pilot, and a cell phone...and I just love it.  My whole life (and that of my family) is in there.  Anyone can ask me anything about anyone or their schedule, and I've got it!

Without it, I couldn't remember my own name, sadly.  I used to be sharp as a tack, but I started forgetting simple things when I was taking so much naproxen over the years....  Since I've gone off of it I've perked up, somewhat, but I still tend to be forgetful.
Well, I might look into something like a palm pilot. I wonder if my brother is ready to part with his palm pilot he got a few years back. I should email him and see if he is willing to give it to me.

I am getting a little better about carrying around a purse. Hubby bought me an Eeyore purse around Thanksgiving, because I had no where to put my wallet, but because we did not need a diaper bag anymore. I have only misplaced the purse a couple of times. I have been remembering to take it when we leave and all.

My cell phone that is a whole other story. I have lost it for months. It was dead and it is hard to find a dead cell phone. Half the time I do not even know where my cell phone is. I found it yesterday while in GP's waiting room, I was going thru my purse looking for candy or something to eat and I opened the small pocket on the inside and there my cell phone was, but of course it was dead.
