Off the Meth !! | Arthritis Information

Hello everyone ! I know it's been awhile sense I have posted.  I went to my my RD. My nose has been bleeding every sense I started the Enbrel, also I have so many sores in my mouth.  He contributes it to the Meth. so now I am off of it. I really don't feel much better being on the Enbrel. I suppose I will have to give it more time. I will soon be starting my third month.  I went to my daughter's volleyball qualifier, that was probably a mistake it takes so much out of me.  Though I am so tired of this ruling my life. I haven't been able to get back on my treadmill, my feet ankle's hurt so much.  I really don't like having to take two shot's a week , but now I am not sure how it will be with only the one.  If the pain is this great now with two shot's what will it be like with one. I guess I am just a little beside myself.......  The good thing is I lost 3pds because I can't eat with the sores in my mouthYou know I read this.

And for a second I thought "She was a drug user??"

And then I realized you meant Methotrexate.

Tells ya what kind of town *I* live in, don't it? LOL

Gosh a-nut.  I don't know what to say here.  On the one hand it'll be good to have your mouth heal.  On the other hand a flare would be no fun.  I'm surprized that your doc didn't add someting in place of the mtx.  I mean, i would think that if the Enbrel isn't doing the whole job with the mtx, it won't do it by itself either.  Hope this works out well for you.  Glad to have you back, I missed ya :) Linncn2008-03-19 15:59:43 [QUOTE=arriscolwell]You know I read this. Glad to here from you. I was going to put out a search for you if i had not heard something soon. Hope you get this straightened out soon. Good luck and feel better.Katie,  I might think about that if it would help.... lol

Linc,  He upped my folic acid to try and get it out of my system.  If it wasn't for my husband switching insurance companies, I would probably be on something else.  Seriously do you ever get to the point that it calms down or is it a constant struggle.  If they ask me one more time what my pain level is I think I will go postal " how do you judge that "  He asked me how long I am stiff in the morning.  I don't know about all of you , but this isn't just a morning thing.....
Milly,  Thank you for your concern and to all of you . It does mean alot.  Red I haven't heard of that. If the folic doesn't' get it  I will give that ago.I do not know why the RD's think it is supposed to be morning only stiffness. My RA did not read the books either. My understanding was morning stiffness of an hour or less is not RA.  Stiffness that lasts at least several hours is RA.  I'm thinking all day qualifies as RA. Sometimes mine only lasts 10 minutes. Sometimes it lasts 10 hours. I dunno where you heard about "less than an hour is not RA"

Find em, and smack em for me? My stiffness plays stealth games. Just when I think it's gone, it shows up.

I know what Jesse is talking about.  When their is am stiffness  an hour or more(although I think I've read 1/2 hour too, but maybe not) that is a sign of RA.  SO Jesse naturally assumed that less than an hour would be NOT RA.  But I haven't actually read that anywhere.  Still a reasonable conclusion on Jesse's part.

I was thinking maybe someone told her that. People are always passing around false info. 'Specially those who DON'T have RA!!Hm.  Well maybe you're right and someone will be getting a smack afterall. :)I always hate that pain scale too....I just tell them is vascilates between 7 and 10.....just write in what ou want to.

Several years ago I finally told my RD.....I am stiff and hurt all day. DOes it actaully stop for some people?.

In all actuality and NO KIDDING, when I dream, I actually have mobility restrictions and ache....the only time I don't is if I am dreaming and in my dream I remember that I know how to fly and float in the air.

I thought the same thing! I guess I should stop watching Intervention so much!!

Jode, I'm so glad you dream of flying, too! I have for a long, long time. Not flapping-wings type flying. I just lay back and float, like floating in water. But I can move, too. I don't just stay in one spot. It's my all-time favorite dream and I have it pretty often. Sure beats the nightmares

Sorry for going off topic! Just excited to know someone else can fly!

Hugs to all, Nini

Well I am glad I got everyone 's attentionThen how come 'remission' is stiffness lasting less than 15 minutes?

Hey Nut!

Hugs, and keep moving forward,

Pip
My guess is when you have morning stiffness that lasts more than 30 min, they are determining you are in the early stages of RA. when I first started with symptoms, my morning stiffness was only for a bit, now it is 30-60 min. on good days. Today, I can't seem to get moving. And I stiffen up later in the day. I believe for me, I'm still in the early stages. As it progresses, I'm sure the stiffness will last longer, without the right treatment for me.
I was thinking "meth" the street drug too! LOL. Cracked me up actually!
[QUOTE=JasmineRain] [QUOTE=arriscolwell]You know I read this. Oh ! Apeanut , I sure hope you start feeling better !!
I read your first post about 4 times - thinking , that poor girl was into meth -
before I went to Arriscowell's post to understand it was mtx.

I was just about to post about wanting to come off meth!
I am covered in a rash, i have very sensitive skin and teeth, i am so fatigued for 2 days after taking them, i have been asleep on and off all day today!
I am just so sick of taking them. But...i dont know what i will be like without them.
I do an aerobics class once a week, and use my cross trainer a few times a week..will i end up stiff and in so much pain i wont be able to do these things anymore?
I feel like i am in a no win situation! I dont know what to do!

What is the significance of morning stiffness in the clinical picture of rheumatoid arthritis patients? Does it mean the patient is only stiff in the morning? Is it only characteristic of rheumatoid arthritis or of other forms of arthritis too?
A. Do your joints feel stiff when you wake up in the morning? This is a common question asked by doctors who take care of patients with arthritis. If the answer is yes, they might ask how long it takes to improve. Not everyone with arthritis will feel stiff in the morning. Instead of stiffness, some may complain they hurt more in the morning or describe discomfort without pain. The duration of symptoms in the morning is an important clue as to what type of arthritis you may have. For example, Rheumatoid Arthritis or Lupus patients often complain of prolonged morning stiffnness or pain which may last 45 minutes or longer. On the other hand, osteoarthritis patients symptoms typically improve within 30 minutes but may be aggravated during the day with use of the afftected joints.
