I have had foot pain for about 4 yrs now, was originally dx with Neuromas. My Rd thinks this is not Neuromas but RA. my Question is how many have Ball of foot pain from Ra. The pain I have is a burning tighness pain, which sounds more like a neuroma. my foot has a little round knot on the bottom (midfoot) and has also changed the appearance of my 2,3, toes look like they are getting longer. just curious if anyone has experienced this.

I have pain in my heel, my RD said it was a combination of JRA and Fibro. He ran me through a lot of test though to rule everything else out. My toes aren't longer, they look funny, but thats just because of the JRA. OY! Hopefully they can fingure this out soon.

thanks for the reply. hope your heel pain will feel better.

I suffer with pain in the balls of my feet, it feels like im walking on broken glass. It is my RA and one of the first places it started. I hope you feel better soon.I really don't get that sensation. it it funny how we can have the same pain in same location but feels completely different! is it in both feet? mine are but thankfully only one bothers me.Oh me, I have had those probs ....for a long time it was the balls of my feet. Then my heels. When I moved to Michigan I managed to gain over 20lbs (fast food, stress) and my feet were awful. Since then with the less weight my feet do better, sometimes.

When I take the Glucosamine it seems to help a bit...I cna remember Tim suggesting and urging I use it and it did help. I haven;t taken it for quite some time though.

My left shoulder is going back to the same prob, but yep, the feet. I wear the Reebok shoe and it is really soft leather and it helps. SOmetimes though I think they make my feet worse. MAybe a new really supportive shoe would help?

Sometimes I wear hightop barn boots....they are really supportive and help my ankles tremendously...yep, got nodules there too.
I have foot pain  - never the heel, just balls of feet and toes.   That's where it started for me, so when I feel like it's starting to act up, it seems to hit there first.    I can get by with heels now some days, but other days, it's low-heels and by the end of the day I can't wait to put my feet up. I have had foot pain for years.  Had two surgeries for hammer toes that failed.  Last summer my feet were so swollen that I wore sandals all the time.  I bought a really cute pair of Sketchers and couldn't wear them because my left foot is turning in and I was walking on the side of my foot.  Because of the swelling I didn't realize that  this was causing the bone on the arch of my left foot to protrude and I also have a lump in that area.  I went to a store that specialilzes in feet, and they carry really good shoes, and I ended up with orthopedic shoes, orthotics and rocker soles in my shoes, hate them, and my shoes look like clown shoes.  So I have a closet full of shoes i can't wear and I am a shoe freak.  If I had gone to see the orthotist at the shoe store earlier I wouldn't have this problem.  I went to a new RD and he told me that I have had arthritis in my feet for years and all the doctors I had seen never picked up on it.   My orthotist tells me that I can get a pair of Mary Janes soon.   Oh Boy!jode, I am already taking glucosamine and I think it's really helping my knees. and I wear Sas shoes to work, which I believe are an orthopaedic shoe, they are comfortable, I do have ajob where I'm on my feet all day, so I know that's alot of my problem. lol. thanks for the reply.                                                     Cathy Thanks for reply, I can't do heels anymore hey I have that too between the second and third toe! only really notice it on one foot. can't tell to you put pressure on it. does it look like the the conection to your toes and foot have changed any?I don't know, I can't get too close cause I can't stoop or kneel.... but they look like a "V" between them...  It's only been the last 8 months that I noticed this.

I was told by my neuro that I cannot wear constricting shoes... that i needed to have a broad tip with room for the toes, that I was pinching something and that was causing the burning ..

IDK.. it's been one thing after another with different docs saying different things... but I try to follow them the best I can and wear comfy shoes

(anniemax:  there are some really cute MaryJanes out there now!!!   ) Those darn feet. LOL Mine always act up when i go to bed. You would think they would appreciate the rest. Not, they just start throbing. I do not have your exact symtems. I remember my gp giving me flexeril and naproxen when i was 23. He sent me to an RD and said his feet hurt really bad also when he craweled in bed. Of course he was in his seventies and i was twentythree so thats why he sent me to the RD. He was the nicest doctor but he retired along time ago.
