Has anyone here developed gca after being diagnosed and being treated for pmr?  My Ruemy says you don't get gca while taking steroids for pmr.  Not even when you are down to 10 mg.  Is this so???

Thanks
I went from 20Mg prendisone to 5 mg. in nearly 2 years with a very schedule drop every 3 mon ths if the sed rate was down.  Three days ago it appears I had an attack of GSA, had Temporal Artheritis Biospy yesterday.  Will get results Tuesday.    Had 2 or 3 bad headaches with jabbing screwdriver pain 3 or 4 years before I was diagnosed with PMR, but never knwew what they were.  My RM told me Thursday that sometimes the imflamation from the PMR "leaches" into the bloodstream and causes GSA.  Because GSA requires 40-60mg to get it under control, the lower dose for the PMR didn't help.  The GSA is so much more serious than the PMR, as bad as that it.  Do get checked.
