mtx on same day as biologic? | Arthritis Information

I think I've read that some people take their mtx the same day as their biologic, because it helps the biologic work better. Is this recommended by your doctor or is it your own observation? Would that be harder on your liver, or is it better to do all the toxins at once?I take mine on the same day. I do it just so I only have to think about taking medicine one day a week. My RD knows I take them both together and has never said anything for or against it.i did it simply to remember to take them both..nothing scientific about itI always preferred just getting it over with all at one time. Like Linn said; you only have to think about it that one day.

I asked doctor, he told me I could do what I want, as long as I didn't bounce around. I ended up taking MTX on Thursdays and Humira on Sunday.I wonder if spacing it out would help if things weren't lasting the full seven days. I'd say try it a couple different ways and see what suits your schedule best.

I like taking both on a Saturday night so I'd have Sunday to take it easy before going back to work for the week. So often I have needed it.

I asked today when I got my infusion. The nurse said it was fine.
