my doctor (gp) keeps telling me to take my pills as prescribed, but i worried about addiction.  this helps, i don't feel like i'm addicted, but have really worried about becoming so.  but after a year. it's still effective//  i'm going to try to quit worrying.  without it, i would not be able to work and i still do.

i had hoped it would help people who worry about that.  sadly, i wrote this and cannot remember if i made the following point (most likely i did).
do you call diabetics who need insulin or people who need heart meds addicted to those meds? no. just because it is a pain med...and you're physically dependant on it does not mean you're addicted.  i am currently completely unmedicated...don't want to be.  but until the ins. kicks in, i am. i'd be thrilled with decent pain control.  course not sure i know what that is either...only been given ultram and it is no better than taking large amounts of OTC meds.

Congratulations Wayney.

BarbGood article wayney!  I too like the big font these days lol Barb,
thanks for the good comments.  i'll  keep the large font but am seriously considering changing colors again.  but it will go back to the light green every one hated.
as of right now, no there is no pay for the articles...but a good friend of mine, actually the owner of the group i started the articles for, sent me a place that does accept things like that and doesn't care if i publish them elsewhere either.  they do have a program that will pay me based on clicks.
i'm especially glad you said it was easy to understand without needing a medical background.  that was a huge concern of mine!
Great article, well done and so much nicer to read from someone who's going through it.  Good for you! Murphette,
glad you liked it and the font size.

Julie,
that is one of my reasons for doing it...anyone can research and write an article but...it somehow speaks to more people if you have someone who lives it writing it.  i'm working on others...well should say have plans to work on others on various topics related to ra and other autoimmune diseases.

Wayney,

Very nicely done. Well thought out and very easy for all to read. I'm going to see that my Rheumy gets a copy. I think his patients could benefit from your article and I hope all the lurkers here have a look at it. Certainly there is something in there for all of us. Thanks for sharing it with us and I look forward to the next installment.

Good article. I'll be passing it on to others.

I, for one, feel much more comfortable reading about something that I know someone has experienced.  You've walked the walk and you can relate in a way that is so beneficial.

Wow. Excellent article. So informative. I've been reading a lot about pain trying to understand what it is how is it connected to fatigue different kinds of pain and different treatments for different pains.

I find that its very complex but I'm determined to get a handle on it. Then I would love to do some productive research that would help people like us who have constant disabling pain and fatigue.

Articles like yours are really valuable. It's been my experience that many doctors and others are clueless about pain. I wish that a quality of life questionaires were a standard part of every medical practice.I feel very strongly that the treatment of pain and fatigue should be getting way more attention than it is.

 Very good article Wayney!!!!!

Where can I find some more of your articles?I was able to read and understand what you were saying and that takes alot from a girl like me.I wish I had a printer so I could print it and save.

I just gotta tell ya again, that was so informative and so well put.I really appreciate you sharing your gift of understanding this complex thing we all  deal with.

Love,
Sheila

Wayney-great article.   Going to share it with my
sister. She had major neck surgery (6 discs
replaces/fused), and they have her on several things
for pain. She doesn't take them as she should
because she is afraid of becomming addicted...but
then her pain is never relieved.

Thanks again. This is such a major issue with
doctors/patients.

All y'all have made me feel really good about this article.  I'm still working on the place that allows me to get paid for them.  This is a new thing for me.  It started because a wonderful friend of mine owns a few yahoo groups.  One is an RA group, one is a fibro group and one is a newsletter group.  The newsletter group is who I started the article for. And now it's going to be a regular thing...well as regular as I can make it.  So, in addition to the newsletter that goes out...all kinds of autoimmune topics, I'll be doing periodical articles on special topics.  So, this was the first.  And I'm trying to get motervated (teehee) to start my second article.
