Gimme Gimme Gimme PLEASE!

Over a week now and still getting worse.  It finally became full blown today and my nose won't stop running, my caugh is killing my throat too.  :(

So give me your grandma's home remedy or what you like to use today!  PLEASE!

I use lemonade (the real stuff, not concentrate...can't remember who makes it but it is in the section with the orange juice, and they also have limonade) I microwave the lemonade so it is warm, and then add a tablespoon of honey.  Have done this for years and it always seems to help...and if I am really bad, a shot of whisky added is great.  A true Hot toddyHi Bubba. sorry your cold is bad I hope you feel better soon.
My grandma used this on us kids but it isnt very pleasant tasting. Cut a spanish onion in half scoop out a hole in the middle and fill with brown sugar, put a saucer over the top and leave for 24 hours or until it turns to syrup then take as needed. It is excellent for coughs.
[QUOTE=pin cushion]Hi Bubba. sorry your cold is bad I hope you feel better soon. Thanks everyone!  I hope these help others too.  My husband is on a run for late night goodies.

I have been drinking camamile tea and taking zicam, but this time zicam doesn't seem to be working, usually i have like a 3 day cold, but this one is much much longer.

Thanks for the ideas!

Hope you feel better soon Snow.
Try steaming yourself with Vicks Vapor Rub. I find this is the only thing that will clear my sinuses and help with a cough.

Hope you're feeling better soon!
I have always done what tenderjoints does. Hot lemonade with honey in it. I used it on my children instead of cough syrup. Drink lots of hot tea, bundle up in bed with lots of blankies and vick's vaporub or mentholatum on your chest. Rest, rest, rest. I hope you feel better soonI use lemonjuice with honey and boiled water. plus honey direct off the teaspoon for a sore throat. plus I get the bursistos eucalyptus spray and spray the room every hour or so. And use pure eucalyptus oil on a tissue to breathe in regularly. I really keeps the nose clear.
