Rash from Mtx | Arthritis Information

 

Has any body had a rash from Mtx?? They always ask me when I go for checkups, now I do have one on my forehead for about 3 weeks, it doesn't really itch or bother me other than I hope it doesn't cover the rest of my face

Thanks good guess but this is listed as a side effect. plus no change in products. How long did you take the mtx before you got the rash. Just curious. I took my first mtx Saturday and had no problem. Not even a bubble of gas or anything. I am super allergic to meds. I was able to let a big sigh of relief. I know sometimes you have to take something awhile before you have a reaction. I was already allergic to the Arava so i really hope i can take the mtx and not become allergic. You probably need to let your RD know about the rash. I have been on Mtx since Aug 07. Hope you will be able tolerate the Mtx.I always use the same hair products and once I got a rash all around my hairline. It turned out it was from Potion 9, the leave-in hair conditioner I use. I stopped using it for about half a year because of the rash, and when I started using it again it was fine.

Manufacturers change ingredients in their products from time to time.  My grandmother broke out in a persistent rash after the manufacturer changed ingredients in the laundry soap she'd been using for years.  It took a while to figure out the problem.
