I know that with RA there is some fatique but how much? Are you taking or doing anything for your fatique?

My new RD says you just have to deal with it.

The Enbrel is suppose to help you with giving you some of your energy back, but it doesn't always work.  How do you sleep at night?  My rd has me on 20 mg of Nortriptylin, which is taken 2-3 hours before I go to bed.  I don't take it all the time but when I am in alot of pain I do take it.  I work 3rds so my sleep is constantly broken.  Have you been checked for hypothyroidism?  This could be another possiblity, you may be borderline, but that can cause you to be very very tired. Since you already have one type of an autoimmune disorder it not uncommon to have another.  Try a very good vitamin too, that can help and try doing some exercises, sounds silly but it does work, even if you just walk or do stretching.  If you drink alot of coffee or colas cut back this is a terrible culprit of exhaustion.  I think it was terrible what your rd said about just you having to deal with it, I hope some of these suggestions help. Take care .   MemeThanks Meme! I take a sleeping pill at night so I sleep better but some days I just have no energy. I have had my thyroid checked and it is fine.

I have had less pain since being on enbrel but not more energy and I started it in Aug. 2004.

I have been cutting back on the caffine as well.

And I agree, I too think it is terrible what the doctor said.

Something else you should consider for fatigue: Try cutting your sugar consumption. It not only should positively affect your energy level, but help with amount of pain too. Try it and see.
