OT - "Lonely" cat | Arthritis Information

Our younger cat has never been "fixed." When we first got her a year ago, we wanted to wait until she grew up so that the older cat wouldn't hurt her after surgery.  Well, she never really got "big" and she's still less than half the size of the other cat.  So now it's springtime, and she's in heat (or as we tell the boys, "looking for a husband").  She roams around the house all night long singing her sorrowful tale of feline celibacy.  The big cat was fixed right after we got her - there was no one else in the house to whoop her butt at the time.

For those with multiple cats - how do you manage them if one has surgery?  Do you physically separate them in two separate areas of the house?  Do they tend to fight, or does the healthy one leave the sick one alone?

Grrrrr.... this is the second night in a row I've been woken up by the TinyCat's lovesongs... LOL LOL LOL

Would you believe neither of our babies are fixed? They are silent! It's nice. I plan on fixing them, but there's just no rush as its *so* expensive here (like, 0-250 a pop) Maybe I can have them teach her how to be quiet???????

I've never had 2 at once when getting one fixed. I have no idea? Would they just die if you did seperate them for a couple of days? That's really all it takes.
Well they lose their minds right now if one gets herself locked in the basement (they like to sneak down when we do laundry).  They holler back and forth to each other all night long.  And besides, I don't know if I can completely trust the boys not to let the locked-up cat out of whatever room she's imprisoned in.

I have an idea... how about I lock up the boys on the second floor (there's a TV and a toilet up there), put the healthy cat in the basement, and let the TinyCat have the main floor? LOL

You could just make them BOTH wear "cones" ?

God, that would be HILARIOUS. You'd have to film it......
Ok, both of you guys have to get your cats fixed.. ASAP!!!

There are cheap clinics out there and animal places, that will pay for the spading.. sometimes you might have to spend 5o bucks, but you can find ones much cheaper, then 150 plus..

until then, its more impt to keep your cats separated!!

Animals really do suffer, when they're in heat.. and fixing them, actually makes them healthier and Happier!!

and your shoes might survive better too!!

ps: as far, as if they'll bother one another, it all depends on the cats personaltiy..
turn the radio on low, for the one kept in a separate room and fix up a comfy place.
Whispered2008-03-25 01:11:16I am waiting for all the red tape and legal stuffs to pass with our "Humane Society" (which, as the town recently found out, is NOT a humane society, though they've been recieving funds as such!!)

Then, they won't be allowed to charge whatever they feel like for spaying and neutering, it'll actually be a reasonable price.
