Can we get Tatoo's | Arthritis Information

I wanted to get a tatoo, has anyone got a tatoo since being diagnosed. I have anemia and wasn't sure if I could qualify to get and small one. Anyone out there have tatoos after having RA?No but I have thought about getting one. Do you have a pic in mind for yours? Does it mean something?I wanted just a little lady bug

I've gotten 3, never had a problem.

If it does worry you though, ask your doctor. If he can't come up with a really good reason not to, and goes "eeeehhhhhh.......weeeeeelll......." a lot, then it just means he doesn't like them. LOL

Just make sure you go to a well known, CLEAN place!!

Thanks I'll check it out.I got my tattoo long before my RA started, so I can't really answer that (although you may want to check out http://tattoo.infmom.net/health-issues/begin-at-the-beginning-tattoo-health-issues-1/). But I'm also wondering where you want to get it....for example, I wouldn't get it near my ankle if I have RA problems there, no matter what the dr says, but it might be just fine on my arm.

Also, if you're on immune-suppressing drugs, be especially careful not to let it get infected. Like Katie said, take your time and find a safe, clean and reputable place. There are many webpages dedicated to helping with this (like http://tattoo.about.com/cs/beginners/a/blchecklist.htm), just google "tattoo safety". And be sure to follow the aftercare instructions because these are very, very important.

i have always wondered that too and I always forget to ask my dr about it...I want to get one of the breast cancer ribbon and have my great-aunts initials on it....gotta come up w/ the money and a good place to put it tho....I have like, 80 other tattoos I'd love to have. Haha I don't have enough SKIN for that!

But honestly, I plan on getting a couple more (maybe 3 or 4.....) I'll just make sure I go to clean places!!
