The RA nodules are back | Arthritis Information

Just got a call from the hospital from when they took several xrays back in JAnuary of my chest...

I have new nodules in my chest area.

THat is all I know.

I thought they waited a bit too long on the results. I have no idea why it took so long.

I have had those test results faxed to my state insurance dr. gereferral wednesday, have appt with PCP on thursday to schedule the ct scan and ect .

Called and had info faxed to RD in Indiana, left a msg to have him call me back and will ask him when he wants to see me to start meds which ones ect. prob know more after the tests. after all the test are in is my guess.

I just have that same pain in my left chest, thought it was breast, mamogram is ok. The pain goes under my left arm and sort of on my upper arm, shoulder hurts too, but I have often had trouble with my left shoulder. My glands are swollen, typical with me.

SO yeah, it is yucky to say the least.......oh well. RA is a progressive disease. We all know that.

I have nodules on my left lung from ra. its kind of scary. I went through a lot of testing to figure out what it was. OY! Anyway they monitor it time to time. it does hurt though, I feel for you!Thanks all,

Sha, yes it is painful. I was hoping it wouldn't go for the organs just yet although I do have a nodule in my left kidney. WHen I saw the xray I saw 3 or 4 shadows. I smoked so I thought, yep I knew better.

I guess I will learn more, get the Dr.'s input and go from there.

it will be ok. I understand how scary and unwanted it is thoughWHen you do not get results from the xrays, you kind of assume it is all ok. It has been nearly 3 months since the xrays. I had forgotten about it. If myinternists office called, I am not aware of it an dthey have both numbers. Why the hospital even called me so late is beyond me unless they were going through files of the last 3 months cause it is April now.....dunno.

If it turns out to be more than nodules and if it is cancer, then that is another story. THe fact that the nurse who called me had no idea that I had RA bothers me. The dx should be in bold print on my chart as far as I am concerned. Maybe it is because I am on state insurance, maybe being in the "cracks" of society is of less urgency. THese are things I need to check into.

I have my PCP appt. this week and I will ask but I am certain nobody will know why it took so long,and that may very well be, but still, nearly 3 months for the results ?......... I have learned to take it all in stride with an open mind and let it go. If my glands in my neck didn't hurt so bad I wouldn't be so peeved. I am typically given an antibiotic for that.

Given that the clinic Dr. wrote down the wrong breast that I was having trouble with and had to tell the mamo people, just take the mamo and look for yourself, it is my lefty........and it took them looking at the left breast to believe me rather than the doctor from the clinic.

So I have learned that you have to keep explaining yourself, over and over again ot have them actually listen.

THis is all new to me. My Dr.'s in Indiana listened and acted. Live and learn. I am sure once this gets situated all will be fine. I mean, what other choice do I really have?

Sorry Jode...so what do the doctors suggest? Or I suppose you'll find out at your app't.Gosh, Jode, that's awful. I hope you get the answers you need. Now that you know what the X-ray showed, you and your doctors can be on top of it. Please keep us posted. (Hugs)

I am totally in the dark about what nodules on organs can mean with this disease-I never heard of it.

Prayers going up that it's nothing serious and that all will be well.

For me when I get a flair bad they hurt bad. If they grow or become very numerous they can be very serious. mine haven't been bad, just painful.JOde; I'm sorry for all the stupid questions on the cancer thread....I always seem to read things backwards and miss the point entirelly. I'm up to speed now....I think.

How did they find the nodules on your kidney? x-rays? Curious. I have a lot of pain in that area but it always goes a way before I complain about it.

mine was found through xrays and then a cat scanYou have them on your kidney's Sha? Or just lung? Does smoking cause them? How long have you had RA?

Sorry for all the questions. Don't know much about these organ nodules. We don't hear too much about these.

I have them just on the lung. I have never smoked, I have had sympotms of ra for 14 yrs, dx 10 years. That's ok, I don't mind at all.

The nodules on my kidney were found because I was on Arava at the time and my entire stomack area was killing me with pain, sharp pains sometimes, other times a constant dull ache. Nobody could find anything wrong so I had a CT scan I believe it was. I had to drink this stuff, it made me throw up, so they gave me some lemonade flavored stuff. drank that then they did all the tests.

The nodule on my left kindey was found by mistake by looking at my abdominal area. I had gone to a urologist and that was what they found. There is nothing the Dr.'s can do about them. Although the urologist smarted off and stated thay could remove my kidney...hardy har.....he actually laughed when he said it.

I was about to graduate from college at the time got waay far behind in course work, and my bfriend had just broken up with me. I was a basket case. Missed my graduation cause I was so ill. Stopped the Arava on my own, and did ok, my RD switched my meds then. We had no idea it was what was causing the problem.......anyway, I can actually feel it burst sometimes. IT will get terribly painful, then in about a week, I can feel it burst....( at least I think so).

When I got better, got a job, moved in with bfriend I was fine. Went to Humira then as a trial had a reaction, then to minocin, then Enbrel and did fine. I had to go off Enbrel when I moved.

Went to RD here cause I was feeling ill, he was terrible and said I didn;t have RA...not been on meds since. So here I am. Begin again.

and you felt this pain in your breast first? Is that what made them xray you to begin with?

I feel stupid asking some questions.

I have pnuemonia and a lot of pain. I then had breast pain, had a momogram and ultrsound. Lets just say it was about 7mos of hell thinking I may have cancer. I was happy to find out it was just the JRA.Then of all things my mamograms were showing some kind of mass so they thought. went through all the tests and ultrasound stuff. Nothing. Went back each year and one nodule I can feel but there is also something else showing up but it is not cancer.

And the saga continues.!!!!!!

My friend Leah and I are thinking about writing a book. We are seriously considering it.

ahhhh man! ShaDucky!!!!! Minre today feels as though I have shingles and have been kicked in the side of my ribcage from my shoulder blade clear around to the middle of my breast. My left shoulder is killing m e, my armpit feels as though I have something stuck under it gouging me. It goes all the way down to my waist ...feels just like shingles!I'm sorry, I know what you mean. I hope you feel better Really! Take it easy and don't dwell on it. Dwelling on it will only make you more depressed and hurt.

thanks for explaining guys. Sometimes I get these random scary pains. Especially in the area of my kidneys. FREAKS me out real quick and then it's over. Same for these random breast things. Regardless there's not much they can do for them right? No real reason to go through a bunch to testing just to say you have them right? I get worried sometimes when I hear you guys talking about things. I'll think "Maybe that's what's wrong with me?" That's just borrowing trouble as my Grandmother use to say. I'm sure if I did have a problem they'd figure it out before it became a real problem, right?

I get this pain over my right kidney. I always think I have a bladder infection. But ultrasounds say my kidneys are ok. I hope that ultrasound tech knew what she was doing LOL!

Don't mean to scare ya Lovie....it just is something that goes with the RA......your Dr.'s can tell if it is something more by the blooddwork......most of the time. I was just totally unable to live my life and take care of my daughter when all that hit an dthat is why I pushed so hard for an answer.
