Sorry you have ra but you came to the right place. What joints do you have erosions? I have it in my thumb and finger on my right hand and of course I am right =handed. I am adapting to doing things more with my left.
Glad you can join us, don't be shy and ask away any questions you have!

Welcome, sorry to hear you are in the same boat as the rest of us, but let it be known that we are here to chat it up with advice or questions.  Please feel free to join in.Hello and welcome.  Lindyhi all thanks for the welcome..  Welcome Boney.  I hope we can be of some help to you.  I imagine with all your years of experience, you'll have some good advice for us too.  You probably have a wealth of knowledge about this whole RA thing.  Thanks for joining our little group.

Welcome to the group. Always nice to see another Brit but sorry you have all this going on. Has your rheumatologist applied for biologics for you? I know some areas in the uk wont fund them.

I hope you get great support form this board, there are some great people on here.

hi all thanks for the welcome....
pincushion..... i scored low in the test for inflamation ..das... but i have never really
had much probs in the fingers... more the larger joints..allthough 2 rheumatologists
say i should have it.. the das test is done by a nurse.. i refused to drop prednisone to go into
a flare so was denied the anti tnf.. strange i thought the idea was to ake anti tnf to get off
pred....     Boney

My inflamation  levels are always low , I am sero negative RA. I have been on 2 biologics, unfortunately I had a bad reaction from them. My Rheumatologist went on my pain level and how badly I was coping with my symptoms and how badly my motability was affected. Enbrel helped my RA but I had an allergic reation to it.

hj pincushion i have had bad reactions to all meds . except mtx. gets a little scarey
sometimes..i wonder if i did not have all the joint damage and was able to work
wheather i would be worth having the money spent on me for the anti tnf...
i wonder if you to are on pred as a stand alone treatment...
Welcome to AI, Boney!

Hope to see ya around and many posts from ya!
I dont take pred ( its one med i refuse point blank) maybe its silly but i just coudnt face the prospect of it the long term effects. I dont think getting the TNF is related to if you work as I dont work and i have never have had any problems with being prescribed them. I know that our health care trust isnt the same all over the country as a woman in a neighbouring town was prescribed enbrel and then the healthcare said they couldnt fund it anymore so she was refused it, the worse thing is it was helping her live life normally.

Welcome--Welcome!!!

thanks all for the welcome messages..   Boney
