Dont you love it when everything seems to be not working so one thing over shadows another? I cant breath. my asthma has been flaring big time. SO naturally breathing is more important then joints fully working. off to the doctor, lung function is down to 60% not soooo bad. get to take steroid inhalers and another 2 a day woohooo how many types of meds can i take? nasal sprays, inhalers, pills, injections...hahah amazing. I have to go back in a few days. yuck. really i think im fine i can talk and walk at the same time lol good enough for me! have to get rid of this awfull cough though, and stop sounding like a man haha my voice is SOOOOo low. anyone else have asthma bad? Ive had it my whole life been on and off daily inhalers always carry my albuterol and cant survive without my singulair. its ussually not a big deal for me though, i cant run, both because of my joitns and my lungs. but lately ive been having asthma attacks out of the blue im just sitting and all of a sudden i cant breath. FUN! o arent immune systems amazing??Sorry to hear of your latest troubles - you just can't seem to catch a break lately. thanks. im just counting down the days till new meds come out!Right around the time I was diagnosed with lymphoma, I was having the worst time asthma wise. My peak flows were about 150 down. They had me on three different drugs. I believe it has everything to do with your immune system being bonkers.  what were your peak flows at? i was 300 today not so bad for me but not great. Li ttle mermaid, so sorry about your asthma. Sounds scarey. Do you have a nebulizer? My son had asthma when he was young. He is 15 now and Thank God he's outgrew it or something and it went away. Used to scare me to death! Hand in there, littlemermaid and just keep swimming, just keep swimming, (oops was quoting wrong disney movie) LOL.

take care

Mine were about 400-425. Normal for me is around 525-550. Most of the time I don't even check but I simply felt like I was sucking air through a hypodermic needle. Most of my asthma attacks are just coughing fits. This was awful. If I was at 300 I'd go to the gas station across the street and  suck on the tire inflator Sorry to hear you are having problems.

I have an inhaler next to the bed, on my desk and in my purse.  I have most good times these days, but I get down to 45% breathing and can't get those darn houses down (game he makes me play at doctors office blowing in tube, 3 little pigs).

I know what it is like and i am so sorry you are going through it.  I hate it so much.  I will be sitting at dinner with family talking 100 miles per hour and in the middle "BOOM" inhaler now please.

Most of the time i start to caugh, so i get a pre-warning.

I wish you well.
yea asthma acts up then i start coughing then wheezing i have inhalers all over theplace, but they havnt been working!!
im ok at 300 cant breath well with any exertion but im fine just talking and stuff lol im used to it!Hi LMM, You my dear, are having one heck of a time.  Those numbers aren't good, as you well know.  Hopefully, you're on the road to recovery.  Has your doctor, RD said anything to you about it being related to MXT?  I hope that you continue recovering, all you can do is sit back and take it easy.  I have mild asthma and it's mostly allergy related.  The RD and my internist keep a close watch on me because I'm also on MXT.  Take care.  Lindyno no one said anytin about it being related to mtx but im not taking it anymore anyway. lol should take it off my list eh? gonna try to sleep. thats hard lol cause i cant lay down if i want to breath!Do you have a nebulizer?  When my asthma gets bad, my inhalrers just quick helping.  Once I start doing albuterol treatments on the neb though, I start feeling better.  They are stronger than inhaler puffs.

have you ever been put on Advair?  Its a preventive inhaler you take in the morning and at night..My grandmother had HORRIBLE asthma...she would have to take her Albuteral every couple hrs...We FINALLY convinced her that doing that was not ok and she needed to talk to her DR about being put on Advair....After being on Advair she *maybe* had to take her Albuterol once or twice a WEEK

yea im not on advair. just singulair, zyrtec and albuterol as needed and right now flovent. im going to the allergist in a few weeks and im pretty sure they will be putting me on it/possibly be giving me a nebulizer for school just in case. I dont have one but ive used them a couple of times when i was younger   I definately feel your pain.  I developed asthma about 6 months after starting Orencia.  This past winter was horrible.  I was on prednisone (for asthma not ra) November thru February.  I was started on Advair and now they increased the dose to 500mg.  My RD took me off of Orencia because it is supposed to aggravate chronic lung conditions.  I am surprised and a little disappointed to see you are taking Enbrel, there have been clinical trials to test the effectiveness of the anti-tnf's in treating asthma.   I went back on Humira hoping it would improve the asthma.   I have lots of sinus infections and allergies which trigger my asthma.  .........I really really hate the whole asthma scene.   My husband died of pulmonary fibrosis in 2005 and both my sons have asthma......I have had it with lung problems.   Sometimes I feel like my whole day is taken up by injections, inhalers, nasal rinses and pills......UGHHHH!!!Im sinus infection queen. every cold goes to a sinus infection which also cause asthma to get worse. and allergies haha when i get allergy tested almost EVERYTHING comes up positive its sooooo itchy! arent our immune systems messed up?
