Arthritis Information -Hello Everyone.

Hi,

I am just now trying to get in to see a Rheumatologist (sp?) due to just now getting insurance. I know I have some sort(s) of arthritis but need diagnosis and proper advise on treating and managing it.

I was in a wreck 3 years ago and have expected problems. I had a full ankle and heal replacement and wrist stuff, lol. Let's just say I can't begin to count the amount of metal I have in my right limbs. My left side wasn't injured at all but my arthritis is affecting both sides at the same time most episodes. I am no stranger to stiffness, swelling (of the replaced ankle) and aching but am starting to get worried about continued walking and independant living.

My question is:

Is muscle weakness and "giving out" (in both legs and both arms less frequently) a side effect of arthritis? My symptoms seem to change with every month that passes so it's hard to figure it all out. The muscle weakness and cramping is of great concern though.

I appreciate all responses.

Thanks,

Becky
