I hate The Doc! | Arthritis Information

So I went in yesterday thinking that I would get some releif. No! I spend three hours and to find out that I am double jointed. It was the worst apt I have ever had. I saw the doc for maybe two min and the nurse the rest of the time. Not a patient centered office. They refused to listen to what I said. They didn't want to do blood work, and did not give me a single thing! Then i call my reg doc and try to get them to refer me to a different doc. But they also gave me lip and were very rude to me. I spent a lot of yesterday crying. I am in so much pain. Hopefully someone will take me!Sha- I would either go back to my doc and get them to listen or change doctors completely, this is your life and your body. I am so sorry you were treated so badly.I am changing docs. I have one in mind I am going to give her a call. The thing is I have to have a referal to see a specialist here, not for my insurance, the docs require it. So I may have to wait for my reg doc. And last time it took them three months to make my apt!Number 1......keep your cool!

You may have to start all over with a consultation with your PCP. It is expensive, but well worth it. Tell your PCP your medical issues and concerns and identify where the pain is and give them the scale range on a typical day.

I went through a similar situation I have already posted on where the RD here in Michigan stated I never had RA.....stating that my RD is Indiana was wrong......no, my RD in Indiana is accurate and has many initials next to his name for his lifes' work.

You will run into problems if you "DOCHOP".

Be courteous, be cautious, be educated, and find good healthcare.
jodejjr2008-04-02 07:35:55I will, I really didn't feel comfort with the doc I saw yesterday!Well you can either give this doc a second chance ( may have had a bad day) or you can try to find another. In the meantime, you have got to control your pain, use whatever you can OTC.

What meds are you on now?

WHen I have breakthru pain I use the generic naprosen, take the MSM stuff and grab the heating pad. A nice warm /hot bath helps with the muscles. THe problem is when you are in that much pain, it rattles your nervous system and makes things worse. THat is why pain management is crucial. You cannot function when in intense pain.
jodejjr2008-04-02 08:14:11Is it a team?  Like an office situation?  Then dump them both!

Hugs,

Pip
I agree with Pip, but  what is not being attended to is the fact that SHA needs medical attention....what happened to the oath? Dr.s and staff shouldn't haev a right to pick and choose who they treat..........right? Or do they have that right?

It makes no sense.......so that tells us that something is going on.
I know how you feel. I had a RD tell me the same thing. He told me that I am so double jointed that now that I'm an adult, it's taking a toll on my knees. He told me to do knee strenghtening exercises. I could have rung his neck.
It may be time for a new PCP as well. Good luck. I hope you find some relief soon!!
Thanks, I looked up what they said I had today, and I am confused, because I don't match what they said. So I know they were wrong. Its just frustrating. I don't feel like they listened at all. I am on percocet 650/50 and ibuprofen 800mg. I try not to take it much, it makes me mean. So I grin and bear it until I get home, but those still don't knock out all the pain. Double Jointed? All females in my family, except ME is double jointed. Yep that doctor is a quack! I say go blind him with your new sparkly smile!

I am sorry you had a bad RD visit. I figured when you did not post yesterday that either you were mooping around or out shopping! I was so hoping it was that you were out shopping.

Much hugs.
Lol! Thanks, I'll have to try that. Actually my hubby took me to a movie after the apt and dinner to help take my mind off of it. It was great! We saw 21 which I thought was way too predictable so oy! I know he is a quack. I looked it up to see if there was any validity in what he said and my goodness that doc didn't listen to a thing I said if he gave me that dx. Not to mention he said I have scoliosis, but thats hard to believe because of the amount of x-rays I have done because of different things. And he didn't do anything but look at me. OMG its so frustrating!!!! But I will blind him, oh annnnnddddd I will love every minute of it. Maybe I should flash smiles so it happens slowly and torture him with the dazzling sparkle of my teeth!HAHAHAA!!! Now torturing the poor guy now, hehehehehe!

I have scoliosis. My last RD did not even mention it to me, after I had x-rays done. I found out when I got a copy of the reports. And he also did not tell me I had decreased bone density in my right hand, the reason I go the reports was to see what what wrong with my right hand.

Yeah... it is so hard to find a good RD. I am starting to like my new RD. She is very helpful, and does listen and spends a lot of time with her patients. She just has an accent so sometimes it is hard for me to understand her, but other than that I like her. Her staff well, they are lacking. As in getting PA's and finding reports. But that is a whole nother reason.
I don't know. I have a RD I am trying to see, everyone I talk to loves them. But its hard to get into see them. I have never had a great RD though. I am trying to think positively though. I have always had docs telling me what my xrays say. I have a lot of test done. but no bone density problems *crossing fingers* yet.Mine is from pred usage, so I have been told.

Yeah... my current RD was highly recommended by some of my mom's church members. Oh and some of the women out in the waiting room to see her for the first time. LOL! They were like sitting and walking advertisments for her LOL!
Thats what the lady I work with is like. But if she likes something she lets everyone know, maybe she should be a spokesperson. But shes an old southern lady with a heavy accent and people will just listen to her talk because of it. Its kind of funny. She also has some funny ways of explaining things. She took ownership of me and called her doc for me and tried to get me in without a referal, but the lady on the phone said she wished she could change the policy she just couldn't. But they were so nice on the phone! SSSSSSSSSSOOOOOO nice!
