I do not know what is going on but I called my RD's office and asked if my RD I have had sine 1991 if he still wanted me for a patient.

THe last RD I tried to go to here, that cost over 0 for an initial visit, stated and screamed, yes screamed in my face, telling me I DID NOT HAVE RA.

Oh please....I know I have RA......I pay this jerk here 0 to tell me it is all in my head? ANd that my RD in Indiana is wrong?????

I am so confused.I have an appt. in May with my RD in Indiana.....pray he will take me as a patient even though I am in Michigan. HE is the only one that ever cared.
I am sort of flippin out here........nobody will mention what my xray report states.

Hey I was dx ten years ago in az. my first visit to a doc in KY told me I don't have JRA I am double jointed!

Cystal RA is hard to dx, mine was initially found after several hand surgeries.

Xrays seen by my RD in Indiana, he says is not RA.......so that leaves what? Many things so I wait an dI wait till I learn what is going on. I am hoping my RD in indiana will still take my case cause here, their is a shortage and some crazies.

Oh well.......chin up!
Double jointed.....geesh.....when I was in FLorida, the RD there tols me there was no such thing as the Rheumatoid my RD said I had....oh please, I went through 5 hand surgeries and improved after  my RD's treatment plan.......

I think their are a lot of RD's out there not qualified for their job.
RA is RA. I think you need to find another doctor. If your disease is in remission, things might be harder to dx, but I do think some doctors just don't take the time necessary to find out what is going on. THe doc that said I did not have RA is here in Michigan. THe doc in Indiana was always my RD. I am hoping he will  continue to see me as a patient. I typically make the drive in one day, I have friends to stay with and want to visit while there anyway.

RA is RA....someone had mentioned an RD here in Michigan taking new patients. Can;t remember who. Most do not take new patients.
I can't believe he screamed at you. I think you should report him, or file a complaint to someone. That is horrible. I'm sure taking the long drive to your other doc will be worth it. You must really like him to be willing to do that. Will your insurance cover you if you go to him?? The Dr. in Michigan did scream at me and my PCP even stated that he had heard that before.....he also screams at you with his eye shut pinninng you against the wall as you are s I do not havesitting on the exam table.

THen he takes all the tests and said I  did not have RA.

Yes my RD in Indiana is well known and excellant and well worth the drive for accuracy and bedside manner. I also get to see my friends while there. He is one that I trust. He is one of the "good caring RD's". It is his excellance in the field I most respect, He has a gift. He listens  and dx, exact. Not too many Rd's can do that, they look only at test result and not the entire patient. I need an RD with "the gift" that can see beyond the numbers.  Plus he has treated me since 11/91   he knows me. He knows my case.
BTW: how many ppl have you heard about that travel more than 4 hours to find a dx and treatment? MANY! 4hours is nothing. Many people travel across the continent. How many visit Mayo each year from a different state?

You do what it takes, we all know that. I have a grandbaby on the way  in June......nothing is gonna stop me from being with my daughter and her new family. My baby girl wants me by her side, it is the lest I can do.

I am fighting whatever it is. But I need a good team to do it. They all take payments!  lol
I'm so sorry that you have had such a horrible experience with a doctor.  :(  Hugs!Immy town there are only two RD's the first office told me to have my PCP send my records and they will read them over and decide if they want me as a patient. I told them Nevermind I have decided I don't want you as a dr's office. The other office , my current dr, is great, Took her a while to dx me, but she listens to everything I say.
I am sure your old RD will see you especially if you explain the situation. Good Luck!!Speaking of doctors, I wound up with a GI doctor who was thorough, listened, polite, technically savvy as well as being a great doctor. I'd almost want to feign being sick just because he was so great! Supposed to see him last month, but my insurance plan doesn't list him anymore! Grrrr! If I could only clone him with a rheumatologist variant.
Oh Jode I am so sorry this happened to you.  *hugs*

Man and my sis keeps begging me to move back to mich.  No thank you.
For the record Shy, I have an excellent RD here in MI.  I'm sorry that Jode got a bad one, but they aren't ALL bad here.  I wouldn't say no to MI cuz of our doctors.  Our politcians or the weather, yes, but not the doctors.  :)linc...who is your RD? you can pm me if you would like....I think you had mentioned it before, cannot remember. I am so trusting of my RD.

I live in Michigan too and have a wonderful RD and PCP!  There are plenty of good ones here!
