hi all anyone finding they are  getting shorter.. thought at first my son
was getting really tall.. but no it is me shrinking.. i have lost 2 inches off
my height .. scince getting ra...  funny how things are going on in the body
and we do not realise untill it gets to a cetain point...... Shrinking Boney
I have lost 2 inches tooDing Dang- I'm only 4' 10" now- please don't tell me I'm going to shrink with RA too!

watch how you stand, especially in the knees.  When they hurt it is really easy to unconsciously not straighten them.  And those contractures happen often without us noticing or feeling them occur.  If you don't see a change in your overall postue make sure you get a bone scan to rule out osteoporsis

I have had the dexa test done, no prob there yet. I had the test- I was told it was very close to normal- only minimal changes. No need to start Fosamax at this time.I'm 5'4"! That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I'm 5'4". I should be about 5'7"-5'8" according to my doc. My 3 inches were lost due to getting JRA at such a young age that my growth plates weren't use enough/were attacked by the Arthritis. I am shorter that everyone in my family by about 4 inches.hi all thanks for the replies ..going to ask for another dexa scan.. last one was 5-6yrs

It's just the beginning stages of osteoporosis. Early stages. May or not progress into that. I'm only 37 now and they saw the first signs of it at 34 I think.

Hey they thought i had that when I was 11. Doesn't have to do with age. But I have to get tested all the time to make sure they get it early.
