Oh man here it goes again. For the past week at some point in the evening all my teeth hurt-they throb.

It goes away after awhile.

Am I off the wall thinking this may be somehow RA related?
No - my PRA came on with dental work.  And we all can tell when we're about to 'flare' - maybe this is your early warning signal.

Not trying to be a downer.

Hugs,

It wouldn't surprise me because I've yet to experience a flare so I don't know what to expect.

Also just dropped down on the prednisone again I'm at the lowest dose I've ever been on since I started.

I hope thats not what it is.
do you take fosamax?   that makes my jaw hurt.    Hi, I find when my teeth hurt, it is usually followed by a sinus infection, hope it's not anything serious.  Hugs Janie. I think it is RA related.  Every so often, every tooth in my mouth hurts for days.   In fact, I have been experiencing it lately.  (I don't take Fosamax--and have heard very bad stuff about it and would never touch the stuff. ) I think teeth can be impacted by RA related also.   I went in about 2 months ago to have a back filling and even after a triple dose of novacaine (sp) all around the tooth it was just too sensitive to do any work.   I went back in last week and no problem.   So, I think it was just inflamed earlier.     Hope it's just a small flare-up and not sinus infection.   Those are a pain to get rid of.I had the same thing going on. My pain was on the right side of my mouth. My teeth throbbed, my jaw, even my ear. Once I went to prompt care and I had a ear infection. The next time I went again thinking it was an infection but it wasn't. Saw a dentist not the teeth. RA in the jaw. The only good thing about it is when my jaw hurts I don't eat so maybe I might lose some weight. LOL
Seriously, I hope you get is straightened out soon and it doesn't bother you anymore!
I don't take Fosamax.  My sinuses are clear as a bell.
I don't know what the heck this is. The pain went away pretty fast tonight. Whole mouth throbbed only for about 15 minutes. It's strange the way it comes and goes everyday.
If I have pain in my teeth, especially throbbing pain, and it isn't a dental problem or sinus infection, then usually it is referred pain from somewhere else.  I find when I am in a lot of pain overall, my system goes haywire and I start to feel the pain in my teeth.

But it doesn't sound like that's your problem.  I hope you're able to figure it out soon.
My teeth have been hurting for the last couple of days.  They hurt in the evening too wanttobe.  I'm scared it is a sign I need to go to the dentist, but now I'm thinking it might be the RA because I'm flaring.  It's not a good time to need to go to the dentist cause I am having my hip surgery in 2 weeks.  I can't afford either the time or $$$$ just at the moment.  Then again I can't risk having dental problems when I'm having surgery.  I don't know what to do.   Wanntobe, I hope you figure out what it is soon and it can be treated.

I'm going to google RA- tooth pain and see what I find

I have had that for years. Thats why when i did have a tooth problem several months back i did not notice. I have had that problem without flaring. I have had that problem lately while flaring. Comes and goes. All i have come up with is Lyme Disease. I have even considered scleroderma. It does not seem like sinus problems. I can usually breath just fine when it is happening. ENT said pred can damage your sinuses. I really had this problem before the pred. I wondered if it was actually fibro related. Eight years ago an RD said head to toe fibro. So that was my old dx for such pain. Does seem my neck is usually stiff when i have this problem.I didn't find anything when I googled. It keeps refering to jaw pain but this is really in the teeth.
I was just to the dentist a couple months ago so there shouldn't be anything major going on.
Pammy- if you are really having dental issues I think it is important to get it taken care of before your surgery. I've heard infection from tooth issues can really travel. They will have to take a month payment if that's all you can do.

Milly- Is your pain strictly in the teeth?
Some days just one or two teeth, sometimes all of my teeth. Sometimes my jaw. Sometimes my cheeckbones. Sometimes the bridge of my nose. I have been to the dentist alot. I am getting a cat scan. I have had cat scan a few years back of no help as well i i had an mri in the past. Old ENT always said it is something else. As in not his territory.Sometimes it's just my 2 front teeth sometimes all and my gums I think.

My mom had something she called nueralgia when she was in her 30's and she had all her teeth pulled and got false ones. I'm not going there.
Has any of the people with teeth pain also had a root canal in those teeth or the ones immediately surrounding it?

Anybody have wisdom teeth pulled that didn't heal properly.  I had 4 wisdom teeth extracted and 3 were fine.  The 4th didn't heal right and I went back to the dentist and told him he left something in there.  He said he didn't.  It healed with this huge 'lump' in the jaw bone that covers a nerve that runs into the center of the body.

The abscessed tooth that was a factor in my whole PRA adventure was between that AND a root canal (I think).

It is probably RA related. Argg everything is RA related at the moment. Boo Hoo. I do not feel so well. I think my depromedral shot is waring off. Anyway i do hope nobody minds as i just took an extra 5 mg of pred. Thought about it last night. As the hours have past well poo. I am noticing alot of stuff i often wondered if they are RA related and they are making themselfs so apparent at the moment. By mmmmmmm swelling. If i show up missing i probably exploded and splatered all over the place. That is how i feel. Blaghhh!Poor Milly!

Please don't explode all over the place LOL.

Hope tomorrow is a better day!
Several years ago I went about three months suffering on and off pain in my lower jaw and it felt like every tooth hurt, including the ones on the top.  When I finally went to the dentist it turned out to be one abscessed tooth.  After taking antibiotics and then having a root canal, everything was fine.  See your dentist soon.

Actually my new RD said it was nonsequential. In other words he thought i should stop spending money on it as i am guessing he thought it to be RA related. How would you take that if your RD told you it was non sequential? And he said migraines. Not sinus. LOL son said i have to clean up the mess if i splatter all over the place. He said other wise it is just out of the question. So i guess i am just not aloud to explode and end of subject. I have toth pain as mentioneed before in my post,  I have never had a root canal, just been to the dentist--no problems.  Had wisdom teeth out on one side--years ago--healed fine.  Wisdom teeth still in other side--will NEVER have then out.  No sinus infection-no ear infection.  Teeth and jaw just hurt sometimes.  Hygientist did mention something about TMJ.  What kinda started it again was the hygientist--who just looked at me when I saw I had RA-like well so what?--did this horrible thing with the probe where they determine if you have gum disease.  I don't and it hurts.  She did every fr------ing tooth.   I could not brush my teeth for a week.  I used mouthwash.  (I have my dentist but his hygientists have been a real test of my patience over the years--which I don't even want to go into.)  Deal with it--sometimes teeth just ache from RA--remember everyone is different.
