Went to the rhumy today for my 4th infustion and saw doc as well, while checking me out, I was telling her how my fingers swell, today the were swollen a little, yesterday I took a picture of my fingers so she can see how bad my fingers swell, her question to me was are those your fingers? she immediately had them slow up my drip and up dosage to 5.  X-rays showed my knees had osteo and rhumatoid arthritis in them, she took me off celebrex and add mobic.  I am very tired and wonder if increasing the remicade dosage is the cause?.

So when your doctors don't believe what we are going thru, use your camera phone and store pictures until your next doctor visit.
well I take remicade for my RA.  And after each visit I am really drained and tired.  I have to come home and take a nap because I dont have any energy.  Which I dont know what they do to you when you have your infusion but they give me a tylenol and claritin before I even start the infusion.  And they told me to take benedryl when I get home if I have any itching.  But I havent had to take the benedryl yet.  But Im on a low dose but will probably be changed when I go to doctor tuesday.  I am on 200mg of remicade right now and it only helps half way thru.  Im new at this myself with the infusion.  I have only had 3 infusions and so Im with you.  But thought I would share my inputWell I myself, just had my dose doubled up to 400mg, and thankfuly the pain has been reduced UNTIL week 5 (oh and my timetable was changed from 8 weeks, to every 6), and compared to the last infusion at 200mg, it's much more bearable.  It was TWO weeks until pain started surfacing and its just now starting to really hurt again.  May 1st if my next one, and I can defiantly say as well that getting the infusion takes me out of the equation for the rest of the day.

Between the benedril and tylenol allergy they make me take before they start, I'm loopy when It's time to go (ANYTHING that causes drowsiness nearly puts me down).  I can definitely say though at this point in time, that you never know WHAT the next infusion will bring and with any luck it didn't do you any damage by having it done but rather just highlight a problem that your doctor may not have noticed until now.  Best of luck to you!
Hi to all, i have been on remicade since Nov. 2007 and at first it started to help and i got the infusion every 8 weeks and it really helped the pain and swelling of this RA and PA. And when i get the remicade i get extremely tired and i go home and take a nap. Then they had to up the vials because the pain came back so now they don't even give me an appointment, when the pain starts coming back i call them and they tell me to come in and i get the remicade. The doctor said that she would have to put me on another treatment but so far the remicade is still working at once a month infusion. And i have put on some weight with remicade, has anybody gained weight.?
