Does anyone else get these

1.  Morning stiffness every morning in their Jaw

2.  A weird kinda warm sensation in hands like warm water flowing through them or something - I usually get it at night.

3.  Symptoms lessen the less you eat.

Sorry - just wondering coz I'm going out of my tiny little mind.

I still to this day have morning stiffness and I've been on medication for years....it doesn't last nearly as long as it use to; I'm in pretty good shape by the time I finish my shower and get dressed......a bad day means it last longer is all.

Also; I tend to loose my appitite when my disease is more active; but I can't say that I've ever attributed pain to the amount I eat. I don't know about that.

Maybe you could study up on certain diets. There's supposed to be certain foods that will cause inflamation. I personally have never put much stock into that kind of thing....but there's those that swear by it.

I would not recomment not eating to avoid pain. You'll end up with far worse problems in the end. You need your strength.

The hand thing I'm not too sure about....that's not the way I'd describe my pain at all; but then again....we all know that we're all different in what we're feeling.

1) Yep, but then my Jaw has always been dodgy - I can't open my mouth very wide and it clicks away all the time.

2) Sounds like circulation problems?

3) Not exactly, I lose my appetite when I'm flaring but the pred soon sees to that. Maybe you have allergies and certain foods are making your symptoms worse, which is why they seem to lessen when you don't eat?

You don't ask, you don't find out =)

The hand thing is different from the pain thing.  The pain I get is like 2 different kinds.  There's the one thats always there.  That is sore in the morning and my feet are sore to stand on or flex my toes and my heels are sore when I walk - end up walking like flipper - and my knees are sore to stand up or kneel down and jaw sore to open and elbow sore to straighten etc and then the other pain that jumps about - jesh - that's the worst - it's sore any time I move and it hurts to touch - when I get it in my jaw, I can't even move my tongue (is that how you spell it) I ended up talking with a lisp because I couldn't speak at all.  Horrible when you can't hold your baby because of your wrists and you cant talk to him because of your jaw.

Hi Julie,

No morning stiffness in the jaw but my shoulders, elbow, hands, hips and knees all get it.

No warms sensations... but it does sound like circulation problems. Better put it in the list for your next dr appt.

Funny you mention eating. My symtoms are WORSE the less I eat. I tend not eat as much when I'm flaring. And when I don't eat as much my body feels much more run down. I might agree with the others, that you are eating something that might cause a flare. I found out that novecane (sp?) at the dentist will put me into a flare. Yuck, talk about a double whammy huh?
