Toe and Feet Issues | Arthritis Information

My feet and toes seem to be having some issues. I keep having my toes lock and twist funny? The best way I can describe it is kinda like a charlie horse. Well, today they got really bad...they locked up more then 7 times within a few hours...and then I was getting weird twitching in my feet...felt like mini muscle twitches, on the tops and bottoms of my feet and my ankles. The locking gets really painful and my husband has to grab my toes and bend them back into place...

Has anyone else experienced this? What might be causing it?? I get this with my fingers. If i carry plastic bags from the grocery store or anything that would make me tighten my fingers together, i go to drop the bag and my fingers don't want to move.

It's only one hand, i use the other to pry them open and it hurts until i open them, then they are fine.

Yeah, that is it exactly...but when it happens with my feet I am not doing anything. I was just lying in bed and it did it...all of the sudden the toes on my left foot were 'pulled up' so to speak and locked. I had to pull them back into place and then they were fine. Hi

I get the toe thing as well - I can just be laying on the couch watching TV and it starts. Doesn't pull up as much as the 2nd toe pulling away from the big toe. Quite painful. It doesn't happen as often as what you're experiencing, but every once in awhile.

occasionally I have those issues and have to work to almost relax the toes. My hands just throb after carrying bags though I can straighten them with effort afterwards.

CathyMN. I have the second and third toes pulling apart!! UGH.

Get your potasium checked. Really it is hard to say what the issue is. I can think back to being 23 and having my toes cramping up. Currently they are having a bit of swelling at the moment now. I did have a lot of this about three weeks straight before i swelled this last flare. I could not even straighten my feet to put my pants on without charlehorsing. Glad you have your hubby to help rub the cramps out. Hope you are not flaring. oh gosh I thought I was the only one this happened to..

It hurts so bad and I cant figure out what causes it.. and the dr and PT just say mmmmm... what in the world IS it?
