I am in soo, much pain, I can't walk, it even hurts justs sitting here....It has come on like over a week.. But tonight it is terriable, is this part of RA?....No swelling, just pain.....haven't stepped on nothing or turned my ankle.....It hurts to even touch it with my hand.....What is this now?Hi Sherry,

Sorry to hear that you're in a lot of pain. Where abouts on the bottom of your foot do you feel the pain? Is it around the arch area or closer to your toes?

I'm sorry you're in so much pain. Is it the whole bottom of your foot or your heel? I have  plantar fasciatis and boy that can get so painful I cannot walk so my rheumy does cortisone injections. Supposedly it is the most painful place for a shot, but I feel such relief!!! Have you tried ice on it? Sometimes a baggie of frozen peas on the bed or couch with my feet on it feels wonderful. Another idea I was given was to freeze a small bottle of water and roll it under your foot, but I have to be careful due to Raynaud's.  Oh, and make sure you wear super comfy, cushy shoes.

I hope you find relief soon, hugs!

My pain is on the bottom of my heel...& up the right side of my ankleI get the pain some times in my arche of the foot. Today was the bone on the side of the foot. If you are getting swelling in your ankles and or some in your foot it sure could be RA related. Some times i hurt when i do not see swelling. I do have swelling. I am taking pain pills, prednisone and Mtx. I had some break through pain on the bone along the side of the right foot today. Ankles make me whince occassionally walking down a step and i forget to be gentle.

I could not walk right now except for the pain meds. Ouch just forgot. LOL The cat had found a plastic bag the kids left out. I just got up to take to the trash. There is one small step down to the family room and yes i agree ouch.
Sherry,  do you find that if you sit down for awhile, then try to stand on that foot that there's a lot of pain and does  the pain recede after you walk around? If so then it could be heel spurs that are causing the pain. I have them in both heel plus the plantar fasciaitis. Owiemom has some great suggestions for easing the pain. I also agree with the comfy shoes. I wear a heel support in addition to a really good pair of athletic shoes. My doctor also told me to wear shoes in the house because slippers don't offer the cushioning needed to let your foot heal.  Doing all those things helped my heel spurs to settle down. Mine have started bothering me again... I've been wearing sandals in the summer and going about the house in slippers this winter so my feet are telling me to get back into shoes. I had pain in the toes and difficulty walking too (esp. in the morning) for about 4 months and took different NSAIDs by myself for all this time.  You know with time and experience. we think we know what to do in such cases. I was somewhat relieved whilst taking the NSAID but had to take it every evening otherwise my feet would hurt the following morning.  On my last visit to the dr, I was prescribed prednisone for 2 months, which worked well and my feet don't hurt any more.  So, my advice is don't continue taking pain medication by yourself. If it doesn't go away you must see your doctor for long-term relief.  My case is different (toes hurting), but it is an advice worth giving.

Hope you get well soon!

I don't know what was going on with my foot, but it has gone away. sorry i haven;t been back, Dad has been sick & he is a 24/7 job when his Demminetia is getting worse....I started the Orenica Infusion 4 weeks ago, I am starting to feel some better, I can walk better, & have more energy....But right now I need some sleep.....rvchick:  Add some arch supports to your shoes.  It will take awhile but it will get better.  Even when you first get out of bed, make sure you put the shoes on that have a good arch support.
