For the last couple of weeks I have been experiencing some weird incidents. Not all the time, but today was bad. When I stand after sitting I start to black out, get kind of dizzy, nauseaus, headache, and my hearing stops. I don't actually pass out, my sight just goes black and if I bend over, it all goes away. I finally called the dr today after it happened a half dozen times and he got me right in. He did bp lying down, sitting, then standing, put me on a heart monitor, drew blood, etc. He kept asking if I was taking diet pills, which I never have - who wants more drugs on top of all we have to take. Anyway, has anyone else experienced this? He put me on meclizine for vertigo and said if I do actually pass-out, to get to the ER stat. He told me to go straight home to bed and not wait for hubby to get script filled. I thought that was an odd thing to say. Hi Owiemom, I hope it is nothing serious, I have been having real dizzy spells and headaches and a sort of muffled feeling in my ears, but nowhere near as bad as you, it sounds like blood pressure, hope you get it sorted out soon, all the best from Janie. Deb...I am so sorry...I was hoping that you were doing well, since we hadn't heard from you in a while.  Gosh...there are so many things it could be and I hope it is just low BP.  Did he check your blood sugar?  Do you have a glucose monitor at home?  I hope it is not vertigo, and I do hope it is something easy!  Rest for a couple of days, and then see how you feel.Keep us posted about this. I just love how doctors don't explain why they are telling you the reason behind their instructions. It's very frustrating. Sometimes you are so overwhelmed at hearing the instructions you forget to ask. Sometimes you are not sure you want to know- but you should. Maybe someone can call his office and ask.I think he should have sent you straight to the ER. Something doesn't sound right. Deb, that is scary.  Please let us know what happens, k?Deb, if you have any numbness face, tongue, arm, leg go to the ER IMMEDIATELY.  If you become disoriented, are stumbling over words, can't remember, hearing decreases, headache go to the ER.  Go to the ER if you have any symptoms of a stroke.  I'm not trying to scare you but I want you to be aware of stroke symptoms.  did you doctor give you precautions? Let us know how you're doing.  Lindy
