Don't know if anyone watched American Idol's "Idol Gives Back" tonight.  One of the segments showed Simon Cowell visiting with a family in NYC...this woman and her two children were evicted from their apartment and live with her mother, but don't have health insurance.  They are being treated by mobile health clinics from the Children's Health Fund.  The mother has Lupus, her son has some unspecified condition with his legs, and the daughter has (J)RA.  The daughter spoke about how people her age should be able to run around and play, and she just can't.  At the end of the segment, while the mother was asking for donations to help families like hers, she broke down talking about how without these mobile clinics, her daughter would likely be deformed.

I saw it! So sad. Last I heard they had raised over 22 million. They also are using some of the $ to help out people that were displaced by Hurricane Katrina which is cool too. My sister lost everything she had to Katrina. Her home and her house boat. At first I thought it was only going to go for people in Africa with aids but they help so many people here too. Awesome show, Robin Williams cracked me up! I saw it too. The whole show had me on the brink of tears. It's a good cause.
