Water aerobics | Arthritis Information

I started back into my old routine of water aerobics. What a difference it makes! My PCP told me that my main problem right now is the fibro and low vit.D. SO I increased my Vit. D, and began water aerobics. The results are Unbelievable.

It took  me over a week to get the energy to go in, but I did it, swam laps and took it easy, then it was time for the aerobics. I have more energy and am so relaxed. Pain has also diminished, a little bit, but diminished.

I am so glad I went into my PCP with my pain prob. His suggestion was the best thing for me.

Ask your Dr. about it. I did and it made all the difference in the world for me. Yeah, my bones crack and creak and I have erosions and RA  problems and cysts, but it really did help me!

Happy to hear it Jode :)

Jode!!
I am signing up for the Y.  I dont' think I'm ready for aerobics but I am definitely going to walk the pool and swim and see where I am after.

I'm glad you're feeling better...

You are an inspiration!!
Hi Jode,

That's great.  I just ended week three of hydrotherapy (water exercises) at the local physical rehab.  My PCP suggested I go.  The water is about 92 degrees and the exercises are more like stretches.  It really helps.  It has relieved my wrist pain.  Keep on going if it works for you.

AWESOME, Jode!!! It's probably one of the best ways to exercise and it's fun, too! I'm so glad you're moving. *hugs*Jode, what great news! I'm so glad you are feeling better.

Hugs, Nini
So glad I mentioned it. It truly does help you feel better.

Typically I go early and swim and stretch in the water, do what stuff I remember from going years ago. THen I rest, and do some exercises. It is the most relaxing and the water is just the right temperature.

THey even have a class for pregnant women so I am going to see about getting my daughter in, she really wants to try the stretching. ( her back has begun to hurt cause she is getting so big!)

swimming is the best!!!  just floating around in the water is the best.   i call it my heaven on earth.  it is the one place i do not hurt!   because there is no gravitional pull in water and you feel like you weigh 3 pounds.  i love it!!!   all my friends with pools remember i need an invite this summer so i can feel good.  it helps for the rest of the day.   wonderwoman wonderwoman2008-04-10 20:27:48A client of mine has RA and she said since she's being doing water aerobics, she feels so much better. I'm not sure how often she goes, but it helps her immensly.
I'm going to have to find a place with a warm pool around here an sign up for some classes. Is there any way that insurance can cover memberships when needed for RA?
It truly does make a difference. When I got out of the water yeasterday, (was in floatinga dn ect. for about 2 hours) , it was so hard to get out of the pool, I was so used to the weighlessness of the water that I could feel the gravity on my bodya dn I four checking elt like I was walking with a ton of weights on.

At the "Y" here it does not really cost that much. You have a small one time fee then they take   out of your checking each month and you can go in any class, swim, or fitness or anything they offer. It is a really good deal. And they are open everyday and you do not have to sign up for classes, you just go to the class, or go in to swim laps.
