Rash from methtrexate? | Arthritis Information

Has anyone developed a rash whle on mtx?  I've had a rash on my hands for a few days and just noticed I have a rash behind my knee.  Tonight is methotrexate night and I'm wondering if it's okay to take it.

Any advice would be appreciated.
I thought I had rash from Mtx but Rd looked at it and didn't think so. the insert that comes with the Mtx says if symptoms are mild but do not go away or bothersome check with your Dr. you could always check with pharmacist they know more about drugs than Rd. good luckI've never had an MTX rash but, as we often say here, everyone reacts differently to the different medications. I agree it's a good idea to talk to your pharmacist and/or doctor and get their take on it.  I did.. Under my arm.

It only lasted about three weeks.. Looked like little dark pink bumps. Itched alot too and when scratched.. it hurt!!

It did go away on it's own.. I just put medicated powder on it.
Thanks so much for your input.   It seems rashes are a common side effect of methotrexate.

I think it will be okay to take  the mtx tonight.  I feel uncomfortable calling as I've already called once between appointments.

Perhaps it has something to do with the sun and mtx as I noticed the rash when I got back from a walk.

Thanks again!
I haven't noticed any rashes with MTX. I hope it's only a temporary adjustment for ya! (Or maybe it's a heat rash from walking?) Don't EVER feel bad about calling your doc if you're concerned! That's what they're there for.

What I have had (and I believe it to be part of MTX) is a pile of little pin hole type red dots on my hands and lower arm.

About twelve or so per hand.
I've put this down to MTX and those parts of the body beeing exposed to the sun.
Went away after two or three days.
No pain or itches with it.
I had a bad rash with mtx all over. Especially face, neck, chest, arms. I also was very sick to my stomach. Diarrhea and vomiting. Dr. took me off, good thing, because I wasn't taking it anymore. I have had lots of allergies to meds, pets, environmental, etc. I even broke out really bad taking enbrel and I have been on it for months. Yesterday, I went to prompt care and got a shot in my butt. Dr wanted to give me pills to take but I said I would rather have the shot. I take benedryl for 3 days now with my enbrel shot. OH JOY!
take care
Thanks for your responses.  I am beginning to think it's sun related as it sounds like your rash Bodak, no itching and seems to be getting a bit better all ready.I didn't develop a rash but the itching was absolutely a nightmare! Did take Benadryl at night so I could sleep but days were lonnnnnnnnng. The first time was a bit of a worry but now I just go "Oh it's back again"
