HI guys, today started out bad and boy was it bad.  I had promised to take my boys to the movies, and my 7 y.o thought I just didn't want to go with them, I was in bed with the electric blanket, 10mg of Endone and Tramal.  I shouldn't have gotten up.  I pushed myself despite knowing I needed a day in bed.  After the movie, my hips, pelvis, left knee, hands, elbows shoulders, feet, legs, spine and neck were all playing their own little symphony, but it was too darn loud for me.  I was taking the boys to Mc'Ds for lunch, and my GP is opposite that, so I left my kids with my friend and went over to see my GP, by this time I was in tears, she is wonderful and immediately gave me 100mg of tramal, and prescribed 20mg of Oxycontin and endone for breakthru, she said the inflammation was high again because she could see the obvious swelling.  She told me to go home to bed and definitely no walking until after I see rheumy on Monday.  She wanted to put my pred up to 50mg, but said she would leave that to RD as I have been trying so hard to get the dose down.  I really hope I don't have to put it up.  I also used a suppository anti-inflammatory as I can't take the oral tablets without terrible gut problems.  I feel very drowsy and don't see the new pain clinic until 1st May, please wish me luck, hugs Janie. janefx, Have you tried enbrel? I'll tell you I kept saying no to it until I got so bad that I said yes . It took me 2 years to do it and this is my 4 shot and I feel so much better. I am able to walk and dress myself. So maybe the doctors could try that on you. I do take predisone 10mg but I am decreaseing starting today and hopefully I can get off the stuff 2 years is to long I think. I hope you well. You take care. Joan It sounds like you need a (gentle) HUG!

I hope you are feeling better soon! I know it's hard to say no to your kids. They don't understand. Explain to them as best as you can what is going on.
Take care.
Hang in there, hon. Hope you are feeling a lot better today!Hope it passes quickly Janie.Janie, that sucks. I just want to give you a hug, but we'd only hurt ourselves! So hugs through the internet! *hugs*

How horrible! Keep strong!
_popupControl(); I hope you feel better soon Janie.Much hugs, Janie! Feel better soon! Thanks you guys, I really send out lots of thankyou hugs!  Hi Joan, thanks for the support, yes I have tried Enbrel, but like all my attempts at everything, I was allergic to it, throat tightening, tongue tingling and rash, so they wouldn't let me have it.  Hugs Janie. Hey, Janie, honey. You hang in there, sweetie. Have the nights and mornings gotten colder up there in the last week or so? It has here and I have flared definitely with the weather changing. I am really stiff in the hips, legs, waist, knees and all those areas are really painful at the moment. But really overall I am just stiffer and sorer, lol. It's definitely the weather change which has triggered it off for me. You take care of yourself. I know it's so hard when you don't want to disappoint your kids and it's difficult for them to understand that with RA you just have to do things differently. Keep warm too, honey. I hope it passes soon. I am going to put myself on some Pred today as after a week of this, it's usually a good idea to hit it hard.  Janie, I am so sorry! My youngest son and I went to Florida and then when I came back, wam-o...it got to where I could barely walk, because my feet, knees and hips were screaming. I started back on the Prednisone. I hope you get better very very soon, and I know all too well about the kids wanting to hold you to your promises. My kids and I went to an indoor water park, the movies, a go cart park and the museum all this week for Spring Break. It is so hard to keep promises when you are hurting. ((HUGS))) to you. I will keep you in my thoughts. Thanks again guys, I have startrd Oxycontin 20mg yesterday and I am extremely itchy and drowsy.  I expected the drowsy feelings but the itching is something else, I just phoned my pharmacist and he said try some clarityne, but it may not work, so I am about to try it.  Hi Cords, how have you been, yes I definitely think the weather isn't helping, Gary put my electric blanket back on the bed, it is the best!!!!!  I am also getting a sore throat and my tongue feels burned since the MTX was causing gum ulcers and now the tongue, I am seeing RD on Monday, although I always come out wondering why I went as he says there really isn't much he can do anymore due to all my allergic reactions.  I am feeling pretty low today, the pain is at a good level but I don't feel like me somehow.  Cheers everyone, Janie. Hi Janie sorry to hear youre not having a good time. I thought the other day when you started having trouble with your feet that you might be in for a flare. Take it easy and know that it will pass and you will be feeling better in no time. Hugs Ally((((((((((((((((hugs janie))))))))))))))))))
